Originally commissioned as one of a series of statues of prophets to be positioned along the roofline of the east end of Florence Cathedral, the statue was instead placed in a public square, outside the Palazzo della Signoria, the seat of civic government in Florence, where it was unveiled on 8 September 1504.

The present façade was built in 1732 – 1734 by the architect Ferdinando Fuga on the orders of Pope Clement XII Corsini, whose coat-of-arms, trumpeted by two Fames, still surmounts the roofline balustrade, as in Piranesi's view.

" The 1971 Mustang was nearly 3 inches wider than the 1970, its front and rear track was also widened by 3 inches, and its size was most evident in the SportsRoof models with its nearly flat rear roofline and cramped interior with poor visibility for the driver.

The 1960 Edsel Ranger four-door hardtop model used the thin-pillar Ford Fairlane four-door sedan roofline, as opposed to the " square " roofline used on the corresponding Ford four-door hardtop, which was exclusive to the Galaxie line.

This was a slightly larger version of the Golf Mk5 with a higher roofline.

Released in March 1991 as an early 1992 model, the Crown Victoria sedan ( which dropped the LTD prefix ) was completely redesigned with a rounder, eight-window roofline ( which shared many design cues with its contemporary, the newly redesigned 1992 Taurus ).

The terminal was identified by its scalloped roofline, which allowed a column-free interior.

The south end of the main terminal was extended to include more ticketing space, and the original terminal was modernized ( the scalloped roofline was removed ).

The formal roofed 2-door hardtop was not available this year, but the roofline was used for the Galaxie 2-door pillared sedan, complete with chromed window frames.

A lower, fastback roofline was added mid-year to improve looks and make the big cars more competitive on the NASCAR tracks with the added downforce.

The windshield rake was increased, and the SportsRoof models had an even flatter fastback roofline.

The Gran Torino Sport no longer was available with the " Sportsroof " fastback roofline, and the new " Gran Torino Elite " was introduced.

Below the balustraded roofline is a Latin inscription which continues around the four sides of the house and recalls its history ; it was composed by the then prime minister Gladstone.

Also, the appearance was changed with a new Thunderbird roofline.

The estate was largely designed by Dixon, Jones, Gold and Cross around 1971, and is essentially modernist ; it comprises several long parallel terraces, designed around the landform so that the roofline remains level: homes towards the top of the slopes are single storey ; those at the bottom are three storey.

For 1966, the Caprice was made Chevrolet's top-line series and included a two-door hardtop with a squared-off formal roofline ( in contrast to the Impala / SS coupe's fastback roof ).

As a result, the roofline is lower than production and the rear door is shorter such that externally the rear doors, roof and rear quarters all consist of specialised custom coachwork panels.

Aside from grillework, taillight covering and bumpers, chrome trim was limited to lower rocker panels, wheel arches and roofline.

Oldsmobile, whose larger and more expensive front-drive Toronado was a direct competitor to the Thunderbird, decided to further capitalize on strong sales of its intermediate Cutlass line by introducing a new Cutlass Supreme coupe with a formal roofline similar to the GPs but on the standard wheelbase used for two-door A-body intermediates and the same lower sheetmetal used on other Cutlass models.

As such, the two-door hardtop had a new notchback roofline, while lower trim-line Cutlass coupes had a fastback style roof.

This also allowed Fiat to lower the roofline.

The Hatchback Coupe with its lower roofline and a fold-down rear seat accounted for nearly half of all Vegas sold.

However, the car is much lower with a height of only, and has a coupe-like roofline, reducing interior volume.

The car is 9. 5 inches ( 241 mm ) shorter than the Phantom sedan, with a lower roofline and shallower glass area.

The DP209 cars have a lower roofline, larger rear wings, a reshaped tail and flatter, longer front end.

There was also the Ford EXP, and sister version Mercury LN7, targeting the sports car market, essentially a two-seat hatch with lower roofline which was not as successful as other body styles.

These cars have a lower roofline and wider body sides, in common with the Classes 313 / 314 / 315 / 507 / 508 units.

Among the significant styling changes between the Mark II and the S-Type including: the tail was extended, with styling features similar to the Mark X, only scaled down ; the Mark 2's spats over the rear wheels were deleted and the rear guards brought lower over the wheels and reshaped ; new slimline bumpers were used front and rear, the front bumper still featuring a dip to reveal the full depth of the radiator grille ; wraparound indicators and low mounted sidelights were added at the bottoms of the front wings ; the foglamps were recessed more deeply into the wing fronts ; the grille was given a thicker surround and centre bar ; the headlamps were given a small peak, making the car look longer and thus going some way towards balancing the longer tail ; the roofline was lowered and made flatter which extended rearwards slightly ; and the rear window became larger and more upright.

The hardtop coupe and standard hardtop sedan featured a convertible inspired semi-formal roofline, while the Riviera hardtop sedan continued to use six-window pillarless configuration.

The early versions of the T1 until 1955 were often called the " Barndoor " ( retrospectively called T1a since the 1990s ), owing to the enormous rear engine cover, while the later versions with a slightly modified body ( the roofline above the windshield is extended ), smaller engine bay, and 15 " roadwheels instead of the original 16 " ones are nowadays called the T1b ( again, only called this since the 1990s, based on VW's restrospective T1, 2, 3, 4 etc.

Styling-wise, the roofline was shared with the 911, while the slanted headlights and wide tail were a continuation of the 959 design.

On the exterior, a dog-toothed fret runs along the aisle roofline, while on the interior, a band of continuous painted bosses similarly run along the top of the aisle wall.

The car had a slightly higher roofline than its stablemates, with a single long door either side, offering easy access and good interior space, reasonable rear legroom, while allround visibility was excellent.

For 1980, all 88s got new and more aerodynamic sheetmetal for improved fuel economy highlighted by rounded square taillights similar to mid-70s 88s, but overall dimensions stayed the same and coupes received a revised roofline.

The roofline is an Italianate balustrade that masks a low attic story, and the heroic sculptural group of Atlas crowning all.

For the 1965 model year, all Oldsmobiles would receive new styling, and the Starfire Hardtop Sports Coupe would receive a modified version of the 1963-64 unique roofline with an inversely curved rear window.

The formal roofline, full-width taillights, and chrome waterfall grille were all carried over into the 1992 model.

Though the 1969 model was extensively restyled with new sheetmetal, the basic 1965 chassis and inner body structure were retained, along with the roofline of the four-door pillared sedans though vent windows were dropped on all models.
