On 18 November 2008 the band released The BBC Sessions, which features songs from the period of 1996 – 2001 ( including the last recordings featuring Isobel Campbell before she left the band ), along with a second disc featuring a recording of a live performance in Belfast from Christmas 2001.

During world war one and two service personnel were issued pressed fibre Identity disks, one green octagonal shaped disc, and a red round disc ( some army units issued a second red round disk to be attached to the service respirator.

In the UK it was reissued as Christmas Edit: Amarantine with a second disc containing the four new Christmas songs previously issued on Sounds of the Season ( the original album already had " Amid the Falling Snow " while " Oíche Chiúin " is a recording dating back to 1988, which had already been featured on numerous collections ).
