Since September 1, 2006, the Chinese government has banned foreign-produced animation between the hours of 5: 00 to 8: 00 pm on state-run television to protect struggling Chinese animation studios that have been affected by the popularity of such cartoons.

This power cut affected the whole of Television Centre resulting in many services, such as BBC Two and BBC Radio 4 to fall off the air, and BBC News 24 went off air before being relocated to the BBC's Westminster studios.

Again, all output was affected with services transferred across London to alternative studios.

On September 1, 2011, Starz announced that it would not renew its streaming agreement with Netflix, which ended on February 28, 2012 ; movie titles from Sony Pictures, Disney and other studios that Starz has pay-TV rights to that are available on DVD are not affected and can be acquired from Netflix by this method.

In November 2009, Electronic Arts cut a total of 1, 500 jobs which affected various studios, including shutting down of Pandemic.

On February 7, 2010, CJOH-TV's studios were gutted by a four-alarm fire in the pre-dawn hours ; CKQB-FM's studios, located in a separate building, were not affected.

Only a few scenes were actually filmed in Åmål, but these were not included in the final version: the main shooting took place in the nearby town of Trollhättan, location of Film i Väst's ( the company that produced the film ) film studios.

Other opening night programmes included a Filmed Playhouse drama entitled The Last Reunion, a preview programme called Coming Shortly, an episode of the American crime drama Highway Patrol and most notably, a networked opening night programme entitled Southern Rhapsody, starring Gracie Fields and the Lionel Blair Dancers, televised from the station's studios in a converted cinema in the Northam area of Southampton and the ocean liner Caronia which was berthed in Southampton docks.

The films produced at the DEFA studios after World War II included approximately 950 feature films, 820 animated films, more than 5, 800 documentaries and newsreels, 4000 German synchronisations of foreign language movies, which were acquired by the privatized version of the former East German film distribution monopoly, Progress Film-Verleih GmbH.

The facilities included the 501-room Heritage Grand Hotel, Main Street USA, an indoor shopping complex, the Heritage Village Church, a 400-unit campground, The Jerusalem Amphitheater, conference facilities, a skating rink, prayer and counseling services, full cable TV network production studios, Bible and evangelism school, visitor retreat housing, staff and volunteer housing, timeshares and the Heritage Island water park and recreational facilities.

A 14 storey building was also built on Worchestor Street as studios for various TVNZ shows, notable shows to be filmed here included What Now, and The Son of a Gunn Show.

The channel among other things incorporated a large number of American imports in its schedules, and also increased the quantity produced of home grown programmes, including Sky Trax which covered European music, and children's programmes like Fun Factory and The DJ Kat Show, many of which came not only from Sky's own studios in London ( having already abandoned the Molinare facilities by then ), but also included programmes produced in the Netherlands by John de Mol's production company.

It included 3 newly built tennis courts and two fitness studios.

Making a virtue of necessity, studios included Chinese subtitles as well, enabling easier access to their movies for speakers of other dialects.

In 2006, Anglia sold its Magdalen Street studio complex ( which included its newsroom and twin news studios ) to Norfolk County Council, which, with the help of the East of England Development Agency, created EPIC-the East of England Production Innovation Centre.

Also during the same year more extensions were added to the studios, which included a new car park, and was officially opened on 17 November 1978.

Other filming locations included Kenya, as well as film studios in Shepperton and Middlesex, England.

The former site of Commodore's operational headquarters in West Chester, Pennsylvania, now houses the headquarters and broadcast studios of leading cable retailer QVC, Inc. ( On November 26, 2004, QVC became the first retailer to sell the DTV, a " C64 in a joystick " designed by Jeri Ellsworth.

In recent years this model has been in decline, with the larger publishers such as Electronic Arts and Activision increasingly turning to internal studios, usually former independent developers that they have acquired for the majority of their development needs.

The plans were to use the combination of the Fox studios and the former Metromedia stations to both produce and distribute programming.

On 7 November 2008, former Batman Mayor Hüseyin Kalkan began looking into the possibility of suing Christopher Nolan, director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, and Warner Bros., distributor of the films, claiming the studios had been using " Batman ", the name of the superhero, without permission from the city, and " placing the blame for a number of unsolved murders and a high female suicide rate on the psychological impact that the films ' success has had on the city's inhabitants.

Lupus Thunder had recorded with Rich at the Dome with a former band, and introduced Jimmy Pop to Rich, who was the first studio in the PA area to embrace computer recording and could edit live instruments in ways other studios couldn't.

Alpha Television purchased a former cinema in Aston, near Birmingham and extended it by the construction of additional studios and office space ; the site was known as the Alpha Studios.

Following the intervention of the ITA, a temporary service was set up — Independent Television Service for Wales and the West, broadcasting from the old TWW Pontcanna studios in Cardiff, and staffed by former TWW workers, until Harlech ( soon renamed " HTV ") was ready to take over its franchise early, on 20 May 1968.

ITV Productions currently operates from the former Granada studios on Quay Street in Manchester and will move to MediaCityUK in early 2013.

The Casgrain Centre houses the sports complex, as well as the theatre and art studios of the college, and is named in honour of Thérèse Casgrain, a former Canadian senator who was an advocate for the women's suffrage movement.
