The village is represented in sport by Upton Cricket Club, which was established in 1901, and Upton Victory Hall Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club.

Badminton is a village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England famous for its horse trials, which take place in early May each year in the grounds of the Duke of Beaufort's residence, Badminton House.

To the north of the main village of Badminton, is the small rural settlement of Little Badminton.
