The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal, usually known simply as the Basel Convention, is an international treaty that was designed to reduce the movements of hazardous waste between nations, and specifically to prevent transfer of hazardous waste from developed to less developed countries ( LDCs ).

Their first formal codification in treaty form was in an agreement between China and India in 1954.

Their traditional association was confirmed in 1951 through a new treaty of friendship, commerce, and navigation by which the United Kingdom recognized the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman as a fully independent state.

Their efforts proved ineffective and by 1849, tired of the war, both withdrew after signing a treaty favorable to Rosas.

Their treaty defined spheres of operation and interest, but achieve little of substance or value for either side.
