This district includes notable schools such as the magnet Liberal Arts and Science Academy, which, by test scores, has always been within the top thirty high schools in the nation.

The urban district includes what were once the separate villages of Aberaman, Abernant, Cwmaman, Cwmbach, Cwmdare, Llwydcoed, Penywaun and Trecynon.

The two central wards ( Central I and Central II ) make up Central Freetown which includes Downtown Freetown and the central business district ( Central II ).

Georgetown-referring to Central Georgetown includes the Business district as well as the seat of the national Government.

The district includes the Borough of Verdun, along with the neighbourhoods of Saint-Henri, Little Burgundy, and Pointe-Saint-Charles and the eastern part of Côte-Saint-Paul, in the Southwest borough.

The district includes the neighbourhoods of Villeray and Park Extension, and the western part of the neighbourhood of Saint-Michel in the Borough of Villeray – Saint-Michel – Parc-Extension.

Of the neighbourhoods in today's Grunwald district, the first to be brought within the city of Poznań were Łazarz and Górczyn, in the expansion of the city boundaries which took place in 1900 ( when Poznań was part of the German Empire ).

Presently the district also includes the town of Rothesay, the Indian reserve of Brothers 18 and about 16 % of the town of Quispamsis including the neighbourhoods of Stoneycroft and Blairs.

A commercial district or commercial zone is any part of a city or town in which the primary land use is commercial activities ( shops, offices, theaters, restaurants and so on ), as opposed to a residential neighbourhood, an industrial zone, or other types of neighbourhoods.
