* William Tresham, Speaker of the House of Commons ( died 1450 ) was the eldest son of Thomas Tresham of Sywell.

He was also the father of another speaker Thomas Tresham ( died 1471 ).

Civilization is a board game designed by Francis Tresham, published in the United Kingdom in 1980 by Hartland Trefoil ( later by Gibsons Games ), and in the US in 1981 by Avalon Hill.

In this game game designer Francis Tresham introduced the use of the technology tree or techtree, variants of which have been implemented in numerous later board and video games.

Among those held there were John Feckenham, the last Abbot of Westminster, and later two of the key participants in the Gunpowder Plot, Robert Catesby and Francis Tresham.
