Its first product was Turbo Pascal in 1983, developed by Anders Hejlsberg ( who later developed. NET and C # for Microsoft ) and before Borland acquired the product sold in Scandinavia under the name of Compas Pascal.

In 1987 Borland purchased Wizard Systems and incorporated portions of the Wizard C technology into Turbo C. Bob Jervis, the author of Wizard C became a Borland employee.

IDEs have always been popular on the Apple Macintosh's Mac OS, dating back to Macintosh Programmer's Workshop, Turbo Pascal, THINK Pascal and THINK C environments in the mid-1980s.

Turbo C is an Integrated Development Environment and compiler for the C programming language from Borland.

In May 1990, Borland replaced Turbo C with Turbo C ++.

The Slogger Turbo Board was a professionally fitted upgrade whereas the Elektuur modification was described in an article in Dutch Electronics magazine Elektuur and intended for users to perform at home.
