By late September 1966, Pierson was no longer involved in day-to-day operations and CEO William Vick had named Britain Radio's program chief, Jack Curtiss of San Francisco, general manager of both stations.

Vick, whose family were also investors in the venture, moved his family to London where he formed a British company called Peir Vick, Ltd. Vick leased offices above which he lived, at 32 Curzon Street in the Mayfair district of London.

On the Falcons opening drive, Vick rushed for 47 yards and later threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Alge Crumpler, giving his team a 7-0 lead after just 3: 02 had elasped in the game.

Atlanta responded with a drive to the Eagles 3-yard line, but was forced to settle for a Jay Feely field goal after Vick was sacked on third down.

His legal troubles continued after leaving Virginia Tech, and have included a charge of brandishing a firearm against a group of people, a civil lawsuit involving a juvenile girl who claimed that she was 15 years old ( below the legal age of consent in Virginia ) when forced into a sexual situation with Vick, who was 20 years old, and additional traffic incidents and arrests in January 2007, February 2008, and June 2008 in the Hampton Roads area.

According to a report in the Washington Post, " one of the girls wept as she recounted how she and two friends met the players at a Tech women's basketball game Jan. 27 and, after sneaking out of a house during a slumber party, went in Vick's sport utility vehicle to the apartment Vick and Hill share.

Beamer initially announced that Vick would enter the 2005 season as the team's third-string quarterback, but he quickly won the starting role after impressive spring practices and scrimmages.
