Vinyl 7 " singles, CD singles and a few cassette singles were pressed but the vast majority were recalled and destroyed by the label, who unilaterally decided it had no prospect of charting: the few copies that made it in to circulation are now highly prized collector's items.

The New You EP was released in 2008 through TRS-80's new label home, Vinyl International and music from the album was featured in the video game Saints Row 2 that sold over 2 million copies.

EMI released Anytime Anyplace Anywhere, a " best of " record featuring tracks from the band's birth until their switch to Cooking Vinyl.

A CD compilation with the slightly misleading title Stars on 45-16 Memories From the Golden Days of Vinyl, released by the K-Tel label in 2003, includes no recordings by Stars on 45 whatsoever but merely a selection of various 1960s and 1970s hits.

The all-acoustic album Strange Sounds From the Basement was released only in the UK and found the band working under the name Colorblind James and the Death Valley Boys, though they were subsequently dropped by Cooking Vinyl and Gold Castle.

Having been dropped by Echo when he refused to visit the USA, Cope then signed to Cooking Vinyl and delivered the Interpreter album in 1996.

Vinyl siding is also considered one of the more unattractive siding choices by many.

The label did little promotion for Bolt Thrower and their blend of death metal and hardcore punk, so after one album Bolt Thrower decided to leave Vinyl Solution and were signed by Earache Records.

Meanwhile, in 2002 material from the band's original 17-track demo tape was released as an EP, Pixies, on Cooking Vinyl in the U. K. and SpinArt Records in the U. S .; Frank Black has also used these labels to release solo work and albums with The Catholics.

In March 2006, the band released their eighth studio album, Flat-Pack Philosophy, on Cooking Vinyl Records, the supporting tour found them playing on a leg of the mid-2006 Vans Warped Tour.

On 11 May 2011, it was announced that The Cult were signed to Cooking Vinyl Records, who will release the new album in early 2012.

Beyond full-length records, Yume Bitsu released two vinyl EPs: a split 12-inch vinyl EP with Andrew Reiger of Elf Power was released in 2002 on Planaria Records and Wabi Morning, a one-sided twelve-inch, was released in 2003 on Burnt Toast Vinyl.
