The World Confederation of Physical Therapy ( WCPT ) recognises there is considerable diversity in the social, economic, cultural, and political environments in which physical therapist education is conducted throughout the world.

WCPT acknowledges there is innovation and variation in program delivery and in entry-level qualifications, including first university degrees ( Bachelors / Baccalaureate / Licensed or equivalent ), Masters and Doctorate entry qualifications.

Some people thought that it would go off the air and be replaced by progressive talk, featuring programming from Air America Radio in March 2005, but the format instead was picked up by WCPT 850.

Former WKBE logo, 2002 – 2006While WCPT ( which reverted to WKLI ) took a new format, WKBE instead retained the Point format though now programming was based out of Glens Falls.

In 2001, Delilah was added to the station in the evenings after WKLI ( then on 94. 5 FM ) flipped to classic rock ; and continued to develop a slight Hot AC lean, even more so with sister station WCPT ( now WKLI-FM ) changing to a soft AC / standards format.

On October 20, 2008, WCPT began simulcasting its programming from 5 a. m. to 9 p. m. on the three co-owned FM stations formerly known as Nine FM.

However, WRLL decided to continue with their oldies format, and on May 5, 2005, AM 850 launched progressive talk with the new call letters WCPT.

On March 29, WCPT added another locally popular on-air talk personality, Jake Hartford ( formerly on WLS-AM radio ), and popular locally-produced show " Awake With Jake " from 7-11 a. m. Central Time on Saturdays.

Following Feldman's show, WCPT airs " Back on the Beat " ( see above ).

While on 850, WCPT signed off from sunset to sunrise to protect the signal of KOA in Denver.

WCPT is also simulcast on FM: WCPY 92. 5 ( De Kalb ), WCPT-FM 92. 7 ( Arlington Heights ), and WCPQ 99. 9 ( Park Forest ), enabling 24-hour broadcasting.

After two years of struggling against a relaunched WNYQ in Glens Falls as well as WFLY and WRVE in Albany, Tele-Media sold WCPT and WKBE in August 2001 to Pamal Broadcasting with the sale closing that October.

In April 2008, Mike Nowak's locally-produced weekly gardening show came to WCPT at noon Sundays.

Though the initial year of WKBE's new format did well in the ratings, outlasting upstart WHTR, the station soon began to enter a period of decline and in February 1999 Bendat sold his stations to Tele-Media, Inc. After a three-month stunting period, the stations relaunched as modern adult contemporary The Point that May ( with WKLI taking the WCPT calls in the process ).

WCPT ( 820 AM ) is a progressive talk radio station licensed to Willow Springs, Illinois, and serving the Chicago area.

WCPT is owned by Newsweb Corporation.

Because WCPT shares the same frequency as clear channel station WBAP in Fort Worth, Texas, it broadcasts only during the daytime hours.

On November 26, 2007, WCPT moved its format from 850 AM to 820 AM, doubling its power and providing coverage to all of Chicago.

The WCPT call letters moved along with the format to 820 AM, and the WAIT call letters returned to 850 AM.

As of October 17, 2007, WCPT did not appear among Arbitron's top 30 Chicago stations and was beaten out by other competing high-profile Chicago talk radio stations, WGN, WLS, WIND, and WCKG.
