WEA ( now the Warner Music Group ) acquired the entire Smiths back catalogue in early 1992.

In 1983, the Australian Recording Industry Association ( ARIA ) was established by the six major record companies operating in Australia, EMI, Festival Records, CBS ( now known as Sony Music ), RCA ( now known as BMG ), WEA ( now known as Warner Music ) and Polygram ( now known as Universal ).

In 2004, De La Soul released a new full album: The Grind Date on Sanctuary / BMG Records because the venture between Tommy Boy and Warner Bros. Records was shut down and the group's contract was shopped to the other WEA labels.

The label previously operated as WEA Canada, the Canadian subsidiary of WEA International, which later changed its name to Warner Music International in 1990.

For three decades the conglomerate was known as WEA, which stood for Warner Bros .- Elektra-Atlantic Records ; three major record companies that signed and developed musical acts and, in turn, distributed product for subsidiaries and other record labels.

Santaolalla arranged a contract for the band with Warner Music Latina ( WEA ), with plans to produce its debut album himself.

Over the decade Divinyls released four albums, Music from Monkey Grip EP on WEA in 1982, Desperate on Chrysalis Records in 1983, What a Life!

In February 1982, they signed to WEA Australia, and also established their own music publishing company Uluru Music headed by Helene Faiman.

He moved to Payday Records, but when Payday's parent company London Records was bought from Universal Music Group by WEA, the album was again shelved.

In April 2006 the case against David Cross himself was dismissed, leaving Thomas Weber to face Warner Music, Sub-Pop, WEA Corporation, and the Alternative Distribution Alliance.

A & E Records is an United Kingdom-based record label imprint, owned by Warner Music Group, and operates under the WEA International group of labels at WMG.
