WJXT retained rights to Jacksonville Jaguars preseason games for one additional year following the switch, despite AFC football games being moved to WTEV due to national broadcast rights held by CBS and a contract stipulation that reserved the Jaguars the right to move local broadcasts of preseason games and other Jaguars programs to another station if WJXT changed its network affiliation.

Those include the Pittsburgh Steelers ( KDKA-TV ), Miami Dolphins ( WFOR-TV ), San Francisco 49ers ( KPIX and KOVR in Sacramento ), Dallas Cowboys ( KTVT ), Cincinnati Bengals ( WKRC-TV ), Kansas City Chiefs ( KCTV ), New England Patriots ( WBZ-TV ), Atlanta Falcons ( WGCL-TV ) and the Jacksonville Jaguars ( WTEV ).

The WTEV call sign is now used on a CBS affiliate in Jacksonville, Florida.
