During the October 16, 2011, taping of WWE SmackDown in Mexico City, it was announced that Máscaras would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.

Storm resigned from WWE in May 2005 and announced that he intended to open his own training school in his hometown of Calgary, the Storm Wrestling Academy, with the first semester beginning in September 2005.

On May 20, 2009, it was announced that the WWE event scheduled for Pepsi Center would be moved to Staples Center in Los Angeles, California ( home of the Nuggets ' Western Conference Finals opponent ), and return to the Denver area for a non-televised event at the Denver Coliseum on August 7, 2009, with refunds for the original date made available at points of purchase.

On the February 18, 2008 edition of Raw, Shawn Michaels announced Flair as the first inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2008.

DiBiase was announced as the first inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010 on February 8, 2010 during an episode of Raw.

On the March 28, 2011 episode of Raw, it was announced that the Road Warriors would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011.

On February 21, 2005, it was announced that Piper was to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

On November 17, 2006, WWE announced on their website that Piper was flown from the UK to his home state of Oregon and had surgery for what was originally believed to be kidney stones, but was speculated to be a disc problem in his back.

He made a return to Raw on an episode taped February 12, 2007, during which he announced that his friend Dusty Rhodes was to be the first person inducted into the 2007 class of the WWE Hall of Fame.

On November 27, 2006, it was announced on WWE. com that Piper has Hodgkin's lymphoma, and he finished radiation therapy on January 15, 2007.

On February 28, 2010, WWE announced that Haas had been released from his contract.

To date he is the only Australian to get a full-time WWE contract

After his falling out with K-1, Sapp began to get offers from WWE as well as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling ( TNA ) to work with them, but his K-1 contract prohibited him from going through with any return to the ring.

Gowen first gained national exposure wrestling for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling during early 2003 under the name Tenacious Z, but soon left TNA, after signing a developmental contract with World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE ).

On the June 26 episode of SmackDown !, McMahon told Gowen that if he would join his " Kiss My Ass Club ", he would be awarded a WWE contract.

Gowen did not return to WWE television due to suffering an injury, and was later released from his WWE contract on February 4, 2004.

After that she was released from her WWE contract.

She was released from her WWE contract in 2005 after revealing that she was pregnant, which resulted in her filing a lawsuit against her former employers.

The following week, Cena made a deal with Edge: if Edge could defeat him in a match for the WWE Championship, he would sign a contract to move to SmackDown !.

On August 8, 2008, Nunzio was released from his WWE contract.

Rhyno was released from his WWE contract on April 9, 2005 along with his friend Matt Hardy due to a public argument with his wife that took place at the WrestleMania 21 afterparty.

Though a contract existed to hold the venue for the WWE event and only a verbal agreement granted the Nuggets the venue, Kroenke stood firm that the Nuggets game would take precedence.

After Raw, Flair left WWE when his contract expired on June 2, 2009.

In May 2012, Flair tried to have his TNA contract terminated, which led to TNA filing a lawsuit against WWE for contract tampering and eventually firing Flair on May 11.

WWE also did this when Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the World Heavyweight Championship from The Undertaker and when The Great Khali won a battle royal after Edge's injury.

In August 2008, Tazz returned to SmackDown as color commentator, due in part to Foley's departure from WWE as his contract was not renewed.

On October 26, 2006, Ted DiBiase was released from his WWE contract.

Hardy released two character promotional vignettes, that he was planning to use before he was offered a new contract by WWE.

On April 22, 2010, Yun was released from his WWE contract.

In June 2003, WWE decided to stop using Piper ( who was working without a contract at the time ) after a controversial interview with HBO's Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel in which Piper discussed the darker side of the wrestling business.

On October 31, 2005, Reso's contract with WWE expired.
