Rick Wakeman joined in 1971, and Anderson stayed with the group until a ' bitter dispute ' in 1980.

King Crimson, Greg Lake's first successful band performed a rock arrangement of " Mars " live in 1969.

After the break-up of King Crimson in 1974, various plans for a super group involving bassist John Wetton had been mooted, including the abortive British Bulldog project with Bill Bruford and Rick Wakeman in 1976.

Due to this, he left Yes because they said that they will continue lengthy touring, something Wakeman wanted nothing to do with anymore.

In 2008, Wakeman toured with a solo show named Rick Wakeman's Grumpy Old Picture Show, featuring an evening of music and stories.

A few settlers began to trickle back into the area in 1873 and the town was re-established in 1874 when Charles Wakeman Dalton crossed the mountain from Beaver with two of his wives and family.

In 1989 Anderson and other former Yes members formed the group Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe ( ABWH ), augmented by bassist Tony Levin, who had played with drummer Bruford in King Crimson.

Although Wakeman is a noted player of the grand piano, electric piano, Hammond organ, Minimoog and many later models of synthesiser, he is well known as a proponent ( for a time ) of the Mellotron – an analogue electronic musical instrument that uses a bank of pre-recorded magnetic tape strips, each of which is activated by a separate key on its keyboard and lasts approximately 8 seconds.

This festival began in 1987 at the Wakeman House, but relocated around 1989 when the size of the festival became too large for the venue.

Meanwhile, Yes began composing and recording material for their follow-up, while Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe did the same, beginning production at Miraval Studios in the South of France in April 1990.
