In the latter part of the 1990s Waugh himself, along with his twin brother Mark, scored heavily for Australia and fast bowlers Glenn McGrath and Jason Gillespie made a serious impact, especially the former.

He then made 59 in a century stand with Waugh as Australia defeated co-hosts India in Mumbai.

Mark Edward Waugh AM ( born 2 June 1965 ) is a former Australian cricketer, who represented Australia in Test matches from early 1991 to late 2002, and made his One-Day International debut in 1988.
