Westfield Garden State Plaza is an upscale shopping mall in Paramus, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, owned and managed by the Westfield Group and located at the intersection of Route 4 and Route 17 near the Garden State Parkway.

This is significant given that Westfield Group is the largest retail property group globally.

Past this interchange, Route 28 becomes West Westfield Avenue and crosses into Roselle Park, where it continues through a mix of residences and commercial establishments, where it crosses over the Raritan Valley Line and intersects with County Route 617 ( Faitoute Avenue / Gordon Street ) before heading into the downtown area of Roselle Park.

A short distance later, Route 28 ends at an intersection with the southbound direction of Route 27, which turns from Westfield Avenue to head south on Chilton Street.

In 1960, the BBC opened the BBC Television Centre, and in 2008, Westfield London, a large development with new transport links and a shopping centre, finally completed the redevelopment after one hundred years.

The nearest interstate, Interstate 90 ( the Massachusetts Turnpike ) passes north of the town through Otis, with the nearest access being in Lee and Westfield.

The latter two mountains rise from the banks of the Westfield River, whose banks make up a portion of the town's border with Russell.

Within the town, the Moose Meadow Brook runs from north to south, with the Westfield Reservoir atop the plain and the smaller Tekoa Reservoir near the bottom of the slope of its namesake mountain.

As continental glaciers receded northward a glacial moraine dammed the Connecticut River below Hartford, producing-long Lake Hitchcock with an arm extending northwest along the Westfield River.

Russell Village was a virtually self-sufficient community as late as the 1950s with several stores, a barbershop, and several restaurants ; then increasing automobile ownership brought the greater commercial offerings in Westfield and other Pioneer Valley cities within reach.

As of the 2010 census, the population of Lower Makefield Township was 32, 559 not including Yardley Borough, and it ranked # 1 in Pennsylvania for both median household and median family income ( for places with a population over 10, 000 ), however it ranked only # 78 overall in the United States ( between Westfield, New Jersey and Moraga, California ) for median household income, but non-census 2006 data indicates that since the 2000 census, it moved all the way up to # 31 for median household income ( between Wellesley, Massachusetts and Rye, New York ), and # 9 for disposable household income, due to relatively low taxes and extremely low house prices compared to other peer, very-high-income towns.
