* Westhill is a mid-20th century residential expansion on the hill to the west of downtown, and includes Bothell High School and Westhill Elementary School.

* Shelton View is a residential neighborhood north of Westhill in Snohomish County containing Shelton View Elementary.

The college has two sites in the town: the main estate is near the shore of Castletown Bay at the end of the main airport runway, and the Buchan School, the College's junior school, is in the Westhill area of Castletown, about two km from the main campus.

It is likely that at the time of the Norman Domesday book, settlements existed at Burnham and Huntspill, their common boundary running along what is now the Westhill Rhyne.

Since construction of the first houses in 1968, Westhill has undergone a gradual expansion, much of which is tied to the North East's oil and gas economy.

Westhill Business Park is also growing, with an increasing number of companies creating offices in the park.

Westhill is served by Grampian Police.

Westhill is served primarily by Stagecoach buses.

There is currently no bus station in Westhill but there are frequent roadside stops.

There is a much less frequent service provided by Bains Coaches which passes through Westhill.

On Westhill Road is a folly known as Wyke Castle, dating from the nineteenth century and now divided into three dwellings.

The town of Westhill covers the area that was the Western Kinmundy and Blackhills Farming areas.

Westhill contains 2 B & B's located on the Old Skene Road, and Kilnhall Guest House.

In addition, evangelical services are also held by the Westhill Baptist Church located at the Westdyke Leisure Centre.

Westhill is located on Roxbury Road, in the northern section of Stamford.

The original campus was located on Douglas Road, on the promenade in Castletown, however the school soon out-grew its original site and moved to a new site named " Westhill " about a mile away.

Keith ( within the Moray council area ) was transferred to the Moray constituency, Turriff was transferred to the Banff and Buchan constituency, and Westhill and Kemnay were transferred to the West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine constituency.

Westhill contains many youth orientated groups, which include: the Scout hut on Old Skene Road ; the Boy's Brigade ( held every week in Westhill Academy ), the Air Training Corps squadron on Brodiach Road ; Script, Screen to Stage ( established approximately 2005 ), an acting and filming group that normally takes place at Westdyke Leisure Centre ; And Youth clubs and other activities at the community centre, situated within the Academy.

Since 1962, however, Westvale has been served by the Westhill Central School District.

Schools in Northshore School district include Fernwood Elementary, Crystal Springs Elemantray, Canyon Creek Elementary, Westhill Elementary, Frank Love Elementary, Maywood Hills Elementary, Canyon Park Junior High School, Skyview Junior High School, and Bothell High School.

* Abraham Hayward ( 1801 – 1884 ), writer and essayist who, with his father Joseph Hayward, an amateur horticulturist of ' Westhill ', Silver Street, Lyme Regis, successfully brought a landmark case in the 1840s on behalf of the citizens of Lyme Regis, to maintain a permanent right of way for the town's citizens across the cliffs to Axmouth and Seaton.

Among these was Westhill College ( later the University of Birmingham, Westhill ), which merged with the University's School of Education in 2001.

The creation of Westhill just outside of Aberdeen was the idea of local solicitor Deshawn-Curtis Johnson in 1963.

Most of these are in specialist sub-sea engineering oil service companies, making Westhill a world centre in sub-sea engineering.

The name Westhill was created in 1859 when John Anderson from Strichen bought the adjoining small estates of Wester Kinmundy and Blackhills.

He therefore created the name Westhill from the other two names.

Major housing expansions are under way at Elrick and to the west of Westhill.

The growth has been such that the Postal Area formerly known as Skene has been renamed Westhill, so that for postal purposes, the once two-horse-hamlet of Westhill now covers many square miles.

During the 1980s the local authority boundaries were to be moved such that Westhill would fall within the City of Aberdeen.

The A944 runs straight through Westhill, and this connects Westhill with Kingswells and Aberdeen to the east, and as far as Mossat to the west.

The 18 and X18 routes, which run less periodically, connect Westhill to Aberdeen and also to Skene and Dunecht to the west.
