Turner designed and constructed the railway sheds at Westland Row and at the Broadstone in Dublin, and Lime Street in Liverpool, but also turned his hand to the design and manufacture of railings, boilers, cisterns and bedsteads.

Dedicated on December 27, 1925, the Fire Alarm Office is located at 59 The Fenway, near the intersection of Westland Avenue and Hemenway Street.

Following crew training trials between Inchicore and Monasterevin ( passenger trains ), Kildare ( goods trains ), and Hazelhatch ( light engines ), the class appeared on main line trials from Amiens Street ( Connolly ) to Drogheda, and Westland Row ( Pearse ) to Arklow on 4 December 1962, entering traffic on the Dublin to Cork main line four days later.

Walkie-talkies were used to maintain contact between different areas of fighting and DCDA headquarters in Paddy Doherty's house in Westland Street, and first aid stations were operating, staffed by doctors, nurses and volunteers.

Gold discoveries in Otago ( 1861 ) and Westland ( 1865 ), caused a worldwide gold rush that more doubled the population in a short period, from 71, 000 in 1859 to 164, 000 in 1863.

The narrow gauge Government railway line reached Kalgoorlie in 1896, and the main named railway service from Perth was the overnight sleeper train The Westland which ran until the 1970s.

Westland Aircraft was founded in 1935 when Petters Limited split its aircraft manufacturing from its aircraft engine concerns.

The chairmanship of Eric Mensforth from 1953 – 1968 marked the start of the transition, which was aided by the government when in 1959 – 1961 they forced the merger of the 20 or so aviation firms into three groups, British Aircraft Corporation and Hawker Siddeley Group took over fixed-wing designs, while the helicopter divisions of Bristol, Fairey and Saunders-Roe ( with their hovercraft ) were merged with Westland to form Westland Helicopters in 1961.

They also produced their own designs ; the Westland Scout and its naval variant the Westland Wasp from the P. 531 which found favour with the Army Air Corps and Fleet Air Arm respectively.

Through Saunders-Roe, Westland became first a part owner then, from 1970, the whole owner of the British Hovercraft Corporation, subsequently trading as Westland Aerospace.

At some point after that, Shawn Bell, Wayne's deputy fire marshal, said that workers found the body of a woman in the rubble, and that she was a clerical worker for the store in her 50s, who was also from Westland.

The village inhabitants worked in the food trade from the agrarian area Westland to the cities of Vlaardingen and Delft.

Due to a population increase in the city of Hialeah in the early 2000s, the school was fast becoming one of the most populated in the area and a proposal to build another high school in the city of Hialeah was put before the school board, and Westland Hialeah High School was constructed.

At the end of the 1980s, the Westland Wasps were withdrawn from service, but the squadron received a number of Aérospatiale Pumas in 1991 when it was amalgamated with 31 Squadron.

It was formed in July 2000 when the Italy-based Finmeccanica S. p. A. and the United Kingdom-based GKN plc agreed to merge their respective helicopter subsidiaries ( Agusta and Westland Helicopters ) to form AgustaWestland, with each holding a 50 % share.

Finmeccanica and GKN announced finalised terms for the merger in July 2000, which included a 50: 50 ownership structure, and the payment of top-up fees to GKN to compensate for a disparity in profit levels between Agusta and Westland.

The first of four Westland Super Lynx 300 helicopters for use aboard the South African Navy's new Valour class frigates, was delivered on the 13th July 2007.

A flight of Westland Sea King helicopters for support and search and rescue has been based at Mount Pleasant since November 2007.

Until December 2007 it was the operator of two Westland Sea King HAR3s from RAF Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands.

The Battle of the Bogside started on 12 August when an Apprentice Boys, a Protestant order, parade passed through Waterloo Place, where a large crowd was gathered at the mouth of William Street, on the edge of the Bogside.

Some Constables were used to restrain a Protestant crowd in Derry, but others in this area joined in an exchange of petrol bombs and missiles with a Catholic crowd while another group led an attack on the Rossville Street area of the Catholic Bogside on 12 August.

With supplies donated from local residents, they painted several murals on the walls of Rossville Street buildings commemorating the Battle of Bogside and Bloody Sunday.

The People's Gallery spans the entire length of Rossville Street, which runs through the center of the Bogside.

" Free Derry Corner " at the corner of Lecky Road and Fahan Street in the Bogside.

The South Ward comprised the Bogside, Brandywell, Creggan, Bishop Street and Foyle Road, and it was this area that would become Free Derry.

Free Derry Corner is a square in the Bogside neighbourhood of Derry, Northern Ireland, which lies in the intersection of the Lecky Road, Rossville Street and Fahan Street.

Although the march did not pass through the Bogside, it passed close to it at the junction of Waterloo Place and William Street.

Stones were then thrown from both sides for a period, before the police forced the nationalists into Rossville Street and the Bogside itself.
