Sir Robert William " Bobby " Robson, CBE ( 18 February 1933 – 31 July 2009 ) was an English footballer and manager, who managed seven European clubs and the England national team during his career.

With the rise of television and the departures of Lewis and Autolite, subsequent producers ( Antony Ellis, William N. Robson and others ) struggled to maintain the series despite shrinking budgets, the availability of fewer name actors, and listenership decline.

Among the guests present were Margaret Robson, Malcolm Cowley, Walker Evans, E. E. Cummings, and William Carlos Williams.

In this area he was a peer of Orson Welles and William N. Robson, and an inspiration to other later radio / TV writers such as Rod Serling, Gene Roddenberry, Norman Lear, J. Michael Straczynski and Yuri Rasovsky.

Robson Golightly Green was born in Hexham, Northumberland, and baptised in Bethel Chapel, ( Ford's View ), and named in Northeast tradition as first son after family surnames: Robson is his grandmother's maiden surname, while Golightly is after the surname of his maternal grandmother, Cissie Golightly (* born 1906 in Seghill, Northumberland ), daughter of William Golightly, born 1874 in Felling, a miner and a famous trade union leader in the 1920s.
