Willow subsequently appears in the season finale of Buffy spin-off Angel to deliver the sad news to her ex-boyfriend, Angel.

With Kennedy nearby, cautioned to kill her if she becomes out of control, Willow ' activates ' every Potential Slayer in the world, causing them to become Slayers themselves.

Willow at times reminds the other characters of her religion, wondering what her father might think of the crucifixes she must apply to her bedroom wall to keep out vampires, and commenting that Santa Claus misses her house every Christmas because of the " big honkin ' menorah ".

Willow is taken over by a dark alter ego, going on a rampage, abandoning Tara's wishes, soaking up every dark magic text she can find and for the next three episodes, becomes so powerful that none of her friends can stop her.

Her dual nature is reflected in the fact that she must transform into a Willow tree once every 21 days to maintain her life force.

They never learn the price for prosperity the citizens of Willow must pay: every seven years a husband and wife will come there from outside and will stay, despite protests, to become sacrifices during the rainy season.

Willow Rosenberg uses magic to tap into the Scythe's essence at Buffy's request, and performs a spell that calls every living Potential Slayer at once, thus ending the legacy of " one girl in all the world ".

Willow Rosenberg is soon after able to harness the Scythe's mystical essence and activate every Potential Slayer in the world.

After using the Internet to contact Willow, the Scooby Gang learn that every fifty years throughout history, the murdered bodies of two nameless children have been found dead.

The bugs were eventually worked out of the manufacturing processes, and by 1944, Ford was rolling a Liberator off the Willow Run production line every 63 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

* Willow learns that although Lurconis receives a tribute every thirty years, the one prepared in this episode is late ; no reason for the usually ultra-punctual Mayor's lateness is given, but it might be theorized that he delayed the tribute as long as possible in hope of Buffy dying or leaving Sunnydale in the interim, so she would not interfere with it, as she in fact does here.

He updates the group on how Willow activated every potential " Slayer of the Vampyrs "; when Wesley wonders how the Slayers will be trained now that the Watcher ’ s Council is gone, Andrew explains that Giles and some “ Sunnydale alum ” have been taking care of it.

First forming in the Season One episode " The Harvest " to prevent The Master from opening a portal to hell, the line-up of the group varied from year to year, but the core that remained intact throughout the series ' run was Buffy herself and her best friends, Xander Harris and Willow Rosenberg, as well as her Watcher, Rupert Giles.

In a dark ceremony in which she expels a snake from her mouth, Willow performs the magic necessary to bring Buffy back.

Willow goes for months without any magic, helping Buffy track three geeks called The Trio who grandiosely aspire to be supervillains.

In the final episode of the series, " Chosen ", Buffy calls upon Willow to perform the most powerful spell she has ever attempted.

Willow is able to escape with Buffy, Xander, Giles, and Kennedy as Sunnydale is destroyed.

Through the gamut of changes Willow endures in the series, Buffy studies scholar Ian Shuttleworth states that Alyson Hannigan's performances are the reason for Willow's popularity: " Hannigan can play on audience heartstrings like a concert harpist ... As an actress she is a perfect interpreter in particular of the bare emotional directness which is the specialty of writer Marti Noxon on form.

Unfettered by the bounds cast by a television budget for special effects, the comic series continuation for the Buffy canon explores more fantastic storylines, characters, and abilities for Willow.

At the conclusion of the season, Buffy destroys an object, a seed, that is the source of the magic in the world, leaving Willow powerless.

Willow is malleable, in continuous transition more so than any other Buffy character.
