* Wi Man of Gojoseon, ruler of Wiman Joseon

In the 2nd century BC, Gija Joseon was replaced by Wiman Joseon which fell to the Han dynasty of China near the end of the century.

It was later renamed " The Woods of Arden " by owner Erastus Wiman.

The production, under the auspices of Dwight Deere Wiman, was staged by Robert B. Sinclair with choreography by George Balanchine.

Wiman was said to have been one of these refugees, reported to have led over a thousand followers ( dressed in Joseon style and he himself wearing his hair in a different topknot ) to Gojoseon.

He was initially ordered to fortify Gojoseon's northwestern border by King Jun of Gojoseon, however by solidifying power over the Yan refugees, Wiman ursurped the throne and claimed kingship ( 194 ~ 180 BC ).

Since the Han Dynasty was not completely stabilized yet, the Governor of Liaodong appointed Wiman as an outer subject, provided that he did not prevent natives going up to the empire.

Having superior military strength, Wiman Joseon was able to subjugate the State of Jinbeon ( 진번, 眞番 ) and Imdun ( 임둔, 臨屯 ), vastly extending its borders.

Wiman Joseon ( 194-108 BC ) was part of the Gojoseon period ( 2333 BC?

It began with Wiman's seizure of the throne from Gojoseon's King Jun and ended with the death of King Ugeo who was a grandson of Wiman.

After a year of battle, Wanggeom-seong was captured and Wiman Joseon was destroyed.

Erastina was the first rail station built here in 1886 and named for Erastus Wiman, the promoter who helped the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad to enter New York via Staten Island.

In 2005, Wiman wrote in an editorial " Not only was there a great deal of obvious logrolling going on ( friends reviewing friends, teachers promoting students, young poets writing strategic reviews of older poets in power ), but the writing was just so polite, professional and dull [...] We wanted writers who wrote as if there were an audience of general readers out there who might be interested in contemporary poetry.

He warred against the Kingdom of Wiman Joseon in order to establish the Four Commanderies of Han in Manchuria, one of which was established in northern Korea, the Lelang Commandery.

For the state to be able to contend with Wiman Joseon and send embassies to the court of Han Dynasty China, there was probably some level of stable central authority.

The stadium, which was built along the lines of a typical horse race track grandstand, was constructed as part of the development of the then-new community of St. George, Staten Island in 1886, by Erastus Wiman.

In 1930, Carl Wiman described a second species of Pentaceratops, P. fenestratus, but this was later determined to be the same species as the original finds.

Cody brought his " Wild West Show " to an area of Mariners Harbor called Erastina ( named for Staten Island promoter Erastus Wiman ) for two seasons from June to October in 1886 and again in 1887.

Since Wiman took over, and partly thanks to direct-mail campaigns, the magazine's circulation has grown from 11, 000 to almost 30, 000.

Later the Han Dynasty defeated the Wiman Joseon and set up Four Commanderies of Han in 108 BC.

* The Wiman Joseon kingdom of northern Korea ( Choson ) is founded by the Chinese Han Dynasty general Wiman.

In 108 BC, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty conquered the area under King Ugeo, a grandson of King Wiman.

In this period, Wiman Joseon expanded to control a vast territory and became strong economically by controlling trade between China's Han Dynasty and many nations at Manchuria.

Emperor Wu of Han thought that Wiman Joseon increasingly threatened Han China, and Wiman Joseon would ally with the Xiongnu.

After failing several times to defeat Wiman Joseon's armies, Han Wudi tried to convince the princes of Wiman Joseon to kill King Ugeo.

After the war Wudi of Han China sentenced two generals to death for failing to defeat Wiman Joseon.

In 194 BC, King Jun fled to Jin state after a coup by Wiman, who founded Wiman Joseon.

King Jun of the kingdom of Gojoseon in northern Korea, having lost the throne to Wiman, fled to the state of Jin state in southern Korea around 194 BCE-180 BCE.

The Korean bronze dagger culture of the Later Phase appears to correspond with the state of Jin, which occasionally enters Chinese annals as a contemporary of Wiman Joseon.

Prior to the 1886 season, Day and Mutrie sold the Mets to Erastus Wiman who moved the team to cricket grounds on Staten Island in hopes of promoting ferry trade across New York harbor.
