After the events of Utopia, Xavier has come to live on the risen Asteroid M, rechristened Utopia, along with the rest of the X-Men, X-Club, and mutant refugees and is also allowed to join the Utopia lead council ( Cyclops, Storm, Namor, Iceman, Beast, Wolverine and Emma Frost ).

In the aftermath of the Schism series, the fallout between Wolverine and Cyclops will lead to the revival and rebuilding of the original X-Mansion by Wolverine, with support from Kitty Pryde, Iceman, Rogue, and Beast.

The show features X-Men similar in look and line-up to the early 1990s X-Men drawn by Jim Lee ( more specifically, Cyclops ' Blue Team, established in the early issues of the second X-Men comic series ), composed of Cyclops, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Jean Grey, Professor X, as well as an original character, Morph ( an adaptation of previous X-Men member Kevin Sydney ).

At the latter, Professor X, Storm, Wolverine and later Beast also acted as their teachers at the institute.

For most of his appearances, he retains the powers of Wolverine, Colossus, Cyclops, and Beast.

Meanwhile, Beast begins searching for the missing Carly and Wolverine infiltrates the Friends of Humanity pretending to have been beaten by mutants.

Moments later, an enraged Beast breaks into the Friends of Humanity and Wolverine reveals himself and rescues Carly.

Emma, along with Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Beast, Shadowcat, Hisako, Ord, and Danger, were taken to deep space by S. W. O. R. D.

* Maverick appeared in one episode of the ' 90s X-Men cartoon, " Weapon X, Lies, and Videotape ", searching answers about his past and his involvement with Weapon X, teaming with Wolverine, Sabretooth, Beast, and Silver Fox to take down the robot Talos.

Besides being one of the creators of the Infinites, the Dark Beast also experimented on Blink, on Jamie Madrox ( thus being one of the creators of The Madri ), merged all of the Power siblings into one hideous creature, made Nemesis into Holocaust following his defeat at the hands of Magneto, and was also responsible for the creation of Holocaust's lead hunter Wolverine ( not to be confused with the X-Men's Wolverine who was known only as Weapon X in that reality ).

Dark Beast is then attacked and stabbed multiple times by both Wolverine and Warpath.

Dark Beast recovered quickly from his injuries suffered by the hands of Wolverine and Warpath as he was sent by Norman Osborn as well as Mimic, Weapon Omega and Mystique under Jean Grey's form, to investigate the cause of several inhabitants of a small town to dreamwalk and continuously repeat " I'm an X-Man ".

Dark Beast locks Spider-Man out of the room and triggers the mutation in Gambit, Storm, Emma Frost and Wolverine, although Emma comes through the ' attack ' unharmed as she is in her diamond form, giving her and Spider-Man time to escape Dark Beast's minions and release the Lizard to knock him out.

Emma and these manifestations then proceeded to attack the X-Men ; Beast was reduced to a feral animal, Wolverine regressed to his past James Howlett identity as a timid child, Kitty Pryde lost control of her phasing ability, and Cyclops lost the use of his powers and was rendered catatonic.

Later in the present, Logan, who now goes by " Wolverine ", is now a member of the X-Men and he has told Beast what he remembers of his past.

Beast tells Logan / Wolverine that the Sheva Strain Virus has bypassed his healing factor and will kill him in two days if the cure is not found ( ironically, which is on Logan's birthday ).

Professor X tells Wolverine to try to find the cure in the Weapon X Facility while Beast provides Wolverine with a implanted wristwatch telling him how much time he has left.

He then attacked Professor X, Rogue, Moira, Wolverine, and Beast, defeating them and making Wolverine experience death, which causes Logan a great deal of psychological damage.

Wolverine arrives in time to save Professor X and Beast.

Beast rebuilds the Westchester School at the behest of Wolverine at the aftermath of the Schism event.

There were many new popular additions to the X-Men including Cable, Bishop, and Gambit — who became one of the most popular X-Men ( rivaling even Wolverine in size of fanbase ), but many of the later additions to the team came and went ( Joseph, Maggott, Marrow, Cecilia Reyes, and a new Thunderbird ).

When the Phoenix Force returned to Earth, Wolverine sided with the Avengers and went with them to Utopia to take Hope Summers into custody ( as they suspected her of being the Phoenix Force's intended host ).

When Krakoa captured the original X-Men, it was Moira's students whom Charles went to first — not the second team of Wolverine, Storm, Banshee, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird and Sunfire as it was originally believed — putting them through the psionic equivalent of boot camp and allowing them to believe they were being trained over months as X-Men.

Although though in the comics story, Weapon Alpha went after Wolverine solo.

In preparing to battle the X-Men, Captain America reveals he knows more about Wolverine ; they fought together in World War II, when Logan went under the name James " Lucky Jim " Howlett.

Mariko and Wolverine then went their separate ways.

After the rest of the X-Men arrive, Xorn / Magneto kills Jean Grey with an electromagnetically induced stroke, and Wolverine decapitates him.

Following his encounter with Wolverine ( in the " Original Sin " Arc ) Professor Xavier seeks out his step brother, the unstoppable Juggernaut in an attempt to reform him.

As Shaw prepares to deliver a killing blow to Xavier, Wolverine recovers and stops him telling Xavier to rescue his son.

Meanwhile Wolverine defeats Shaw and enters the mansion to find Daken standing over an unconscious Xavier preparing to kill him.

Wolverine tells Daken that he won't let him hurt Xavier and the two fight.

As the two depart Wolverine tells Xavier that he forgives him for all of the dark moments in their history.

Wolverine acknowledges that Professor Xavier allowed him to become a hero.

Wolverine then tells the Professor that he hopes he will one day be able to forgive him for choosing to kill Romulus.

A simulation disk has Iceman fighting Mysterio in Mephisto's Realm and another one has Storm defending him and Wolverine from Hussar in Murderworld.

While attempting to stop her, Jean is reunited with the other X-Men, who are happy to learn that she is alive, particularly Wolverine, reminding Jean of her unaddressed feelings for him.

Shang-Chi appeared in Wolverine First Class # 9, where Wolverine approached him for advice in order to defeat his nemesis, Sabretooth.

The zombie Wolverine finds him in an underground fight club, engaging with other infamous martial artists.

Cyclops blasts his arm, and Wolverine jumps on him, as he tries killing him " for Kurt ".

Wolverine climbs his way to Jean's side while his flesh is peeled from his Adamantium covered bones, his healing factor being the only thing keeping him alive.

Born James Howlett and commonly known as Logan, Wolverine is a mutant who possesses animal-keen senses, enhanced physical capabilities, three retracting bone claws on each hand and a healing factor that allows him to recover from virtually any wound, disease or toxin, at an accelerated rate.

Byrne created Alpha Flight, a group of Canadian superheroes who try to recapture Wolverine due to the expense their government incurred training him.

John Byrne said in interviews and on his website that he drew a possible face for Wolverine, but then learned that Dave Cockrum had already drawn him unmasked in X-Men # 98 ( April 1976 ), long before Byrne's run on the series.

Disillusioned with his Canadian intelligence work and intrigued by Xavier's offer, Logan resigns from Department H. It was later revealed, however, that Professor X had wiped Logan's memories and forced him to join the X-Men after Wolverine was sent to assassinate Xavier.

Eventually, the villain Apocalypse captures Wolverine, brainwashes him into becoming the Horseman Death, and successfully re-bonds adamantium to his skeleton.

After the miniseries House of M, Wolverine regains his memories and prepares to seek out and enact vengeance on those who wronged him.

In X-Men # 5, it is revealed that in order for Wolverine to fully infiltrate the ranks of the vampires that were attacking Utopia at the behest of Dracula's son ( when Wolverine thought the vampire virus had simply bested his healing factor ), Cyclops has to infect him with nanites that are capable of shutting off Wolverine's healing factor.
