Women of Sand and Myrrh is a novel written by Hanan al-Shaykh.

Publishers Weekly chose Women of Sand and Myrrh as one of the 50 best books of 1992.

Specific examples include The Story of Zahra which includes abortion, divorce, sanity, illegitimacy and sexual promiscuity and Women of Sand and Myrrh which contains scenes of a lesbian hard core sexual relationships between two of the main protagonists.
