Nyland Yacht Club (, NJK ) is a yacht club in Helsinki, Finland.

Sailboat racing ranges from single person dinghy racing to large boats with 10 or 20 crew and from small boats costing a few thousand dollars to multi-million dollar America's Cup or Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race campaigns.

This originated in 1983 when a Murdoch-sponsored yacht collided with Turner's boat during the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race, causing it to sink 10 km from the finish line.

Yacht lengths generally range from up to dozens of metres ( hundreds of feet ).

Yacht ensigns differ from merchant ensigns in order to signal that the yacht is not carrying cargo that requires a customs declaration.

Tests can be seen and read in the following magazines: Yachting Monthly, November 2010 ; the German magazine Yacht, January 2011 ; the Water kampioen from the Netherlands, May 2011 and in Voile magazine in December 2011 in France.

In 2010, the Sociedad Ornitológica Puertorriqueña ( Puerto Rican Bird Society ) and the Ponce Yacht and Fishing Club launched a campaign to eradicate the black rat from the Isla Ratones ( Rats Island ) and Isla Cardona ( Cardona Island ) islands off the municipality of Ponce, Puerto Rico.

“ Yacht ” is referred to as deriving from either Norweigian (" jagt "), Middle Low German (" jaght ") or from the Dutch word jacht, which means “ a swift light vessel of war, commerce or pleasure.

The airport was bought by the county from Cal West Yacht Harbor in 1964 for $ 990, 000.

In recent years Leith has undergone significant regeneration and is now a busy port with visits from cruise liners and the home of the Royal Yacht Britannia, Ocean Terminal, and administrative offices for several departments of the Scottish Government.

Aside from the College punt, The Royle Yacht, and a croquet lawn and fishing fountain, the college has no real sports facilities.

There are several other sailing events held throughout the bay, generally starting from the Manly Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron.

The announcement was made by the Queen at the end of her tour of New Zealand on 7 March 1977, from the Royal Yacht HMY Britannia in Lyttelton Harbour.

Of the three most recent GP14 World Championships, those held at Sligo Yacht Club, Ireland, in July / August 2006, and at Abersoch, UK in August 2008, each attracted entries of over 110 boats, while that in Sri Lanka ( February 2011 ) attracted 38 boats from UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, Scandinavia ( I think ), and Sri Lanka.

In 1985, the Force was presented with a Yacht, S / V China, to conduct Sea Training.
