A compilation entitled Only Yazoo — The Best of was released in 1999 and was preceded by a re-release of Yazoo's debut single, " Only You ", featuring a new remix of the title track and several more of " Don't Go ".

Yazoo released the album You and Me Both that year, and disbanded.

Little else is known about Gaspard, though four of his sides ( and a few of his appearances with Lachney ) appear on the Yazoo compilation Early American Cajun Music released in 1999.

It was then released in 2006 on Yazoo Records ' The Stuff That Dreams Are Made Of, which contained many other rare blues recordings from that era.

Upstairs at Eric's is the first album by British synthpop band Yazoo, recorded and released in 1982.

The two railroads that crossed in Moorhead were the Southern in Mississippi ( SRinM ) which became the Columbus and Greenville and east-west line and the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley ( Y & MV ) know as the " Yellow Dog " for laying track across the SRinM without permission.

After leaving the band in late 1981, Clarke forged an equally successful career with the duo Yazoo ( known as Yaz in the U. S .).

The original studio was located at 1307 East Broadway Street in Yazoo City.

Approximately one year later, SSR moved the WYAB air studio to the Cotton Exchange Plaza in Flora, a town approximately south of Yazoo City.

The name ' Yazoo ', according to Moyet, came from the labels of old blues albums: Yazoo Records.

" Midnight " was written by British singer Alison Moyet and it appears on the first Yazoo album, Upstairs at Eric's.

20 px U. S. Highway 49 Runs north-south from the Arkansas state line at Lula via Clarksdale and Yazoo City, towards Hattiesburg and dead ends at the Gulf of Mexico in Gulfport.

From Gulfport going north back towards Jackson, this highway ends at Pearl where it is bypassed via Interstate 20 to Interstate 220 ( I-220 ) to U. S. Highway 49 again towards Yazoo City.

Moorhead is located at the intersection of the Southern and Yazoo Delta railroads.

The first Europeans who settled the area were French colonists, who built Fort-Saint-Pierre in 1719 on the high bluffs overlooking the Yazoo River at present-day Redwood.

During the American Civil War, a makeshift shipyard was established on the Yazoo River at Yazoo City after the Confederate loss of New Orleans.

The 10 July 2008 concert that Yazoo played at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles, California was recorded to be re-aired on Richard Blade's Sirius Radio Show.

In May 2011, Moyet appeared on stage during the Erasure set at Mute Records's Short Circuit music festival for a one-off performance of a few Yazoo songs with Clarke.

His intention was to grant them 60, 000 acres ( 243 km² ) in the Yazoo lands at the junction of the Yazoo River and the Mississippi ( near present-day Vicksburg, Mississippi ).

In March 1864, Ross's brigade fought against African American soldiers for the first time at Yazoo City, Mississippi.
