Naomi Shemer's songs, including " Yerushalayim Shel Zahav " ( Jerusalem of Gold ), " Hoy Artsi Moladeti " ( Oh my Land My Homeland, lyrics Shaul Tchernichovsky ), " Horshat HaEkaliptus " ( The Eucalyptus Grove ), have become icons in the patriotic repertoire.

" Jerusalem of Gold " (, Yerushalayim Shel Zahav ) is a popular Israeli song written by Naomi Shemer in 1967.

In 1982 his major work, Mekor Chaim, was finally published posthumously by Mechon Yerushalayim.

The Polish Jews were divided into many Kollelim ; Kollel Polen headed by Rabbi Chaim Elozor Wax ; Kollel Vilna Zamutch was under different leadership ; and the Galicians were incorporated under Kolel Chibas Yerushalayim.

Yehudah Leibush Horenstein, who emigrated to Palestine in the middle of the 19th century writes that " this haircut, called halaqe, is done by the Sefaradim in Yerushalayim at the qever of RaShB ' Y during the summer, but during the winter they take the boy to the synagogue or Beit Midrash and perform the haircut with great celebration and parties, something unknown to the Jews in Europe.

Jerusalem Day (, Yom Yerushalayim ) is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City in June 1967.

Some also recite it on Yom Yerushalayim ( commemorating the re-unification of Jerusalem in 1967 ).
