The Dandy Warhols are an American alternative rock band, formed in Portland, Oregon in 1994 by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström, who were joined by keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford.

Soon after, drummer Eric Hedford joined, and following an unsuccessful experiment with Taylor-Taylor's girlfriend on bass guitar, keyboardist Zia McCabe joined the band after Taylor-Taylor saw her working in a coffee house.

In addition to containing popular singles and songs from their Capitol albums, it also included a few alternate mixes, as well as a new track, " This Is the Tide ", written by Brent DeBoer and Zia McCabe and featuring DeBoer on lead vocals, a first for the band.

Zia was born in Jalandhar, Punjab state of the British Indian Empire, on 12 August 1924 to a middle-class family, as the second child of Muhammad Akbar, who worked as a staff clerk in the Army GHQ of India Command of British Armed Forces in Delhi and Simla, prior to the partition of Pakistan from British colonial rule in 1947.

Zia is survived by his sons, Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq, ( born 1953 ), who went into politics and became a cabinet minister in the government of Nawaz Sharif, and Anwar-ul-Haq ( born 1950 ) and his daughters, Zian ( also Zain ) ( born 1972 ), a special needs child, and Rubina Salim, who is married to a Pakistani banker and has been living in the United States since 1980, and daughter Quratulain Zia who currently lives in London, and is married to Pakistani doctor, Adnan Majid.

Begum Khaleda Zia ()( born August 15, 1945 ) is the former First Lady of Bangladesh ( 1977 – 1981 ), and then Prime Minister of Bangladesh, having served from 1991 to 1996, becoming the first woman in the country's history and second in the Muslim world ( only after Ms Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan in 1988 – 1990 ) to head a democratic government as prime minister.

Sameer Zia was born on 8 September 1981 in the United Arab Emirates and plays cricket for them as a specialist bowler.

The sisters ' maternal grandmother was born Countess Anastasia de Torby ( later Lady " Zia " Wernher ), younger morganatic daughter of Grand Duke Michael Mihailovich of Russia ( a grandson of Tsar Nicholas I ) by his wife Countess Sophie von Merenberg, morganatic daughter of Prince Nikolaus of Nassau ( himself brother of Adolphe, Grand Duke of Luxembourg ) by his wife Natalya Aleksandrovna, Pushkin's younger daughter.
