Franco was supposed to direct a film for Eurocine Productions in 1980 called Lake of the Living Dead ( a horror film about revived Nazi zombies ) but he was too busy at the time to do it, so producer Daniel Lesouer hired Jean Rollin to direct it ( later retitling it Zombie Lake ).

" Zombie " extras were recruited from among the citizens of Pittsburgh, with preference given to those who had worked on previous Romero films.

In 2007 Michael Alago ( A + R maverick who signed Metallica and White Zombie ) began working with Morel at Outsider Music.

Most notable for the Alfa Matrix signed bands, Zombie Girl ( on the album Blood Brains and Rock ' n ' Roll ) and also for another female fronted industrial metal act I: Scintilla who released their album " Optics " on the Belgian industrial label Alfa Matrix holding a bonus disc with a remix by Mortiis beside others by Combichrist, Clan Of Xymox.

* In 1940, pianist Fats Waller recorded a novelty song called " Abercrombie Had a Zombie " about the effects of the cocktail on a previously law-abiding citizen who has a few zombies and becomes a public menace.

He is often credited with writing " Zombie Jamboree ", although the song was actually written by Lord Intruder ( Winston O ' Conner ), who released it on the B-side of his 1953 single " Disaster with Police ".

Tom Guay ( or Tom 5 ) is a guitar player who joined White Zombie while studying art at Parsons School of Design which he attended from 1985 to 1989.

The rights to the film were eventually re-purchased by Zombie, who then sold the film to Lions Gate Entertainment.

Rob Zombie had a very small list of credits in film at that point — he had done animation for the 1996 film, Beavis and Butt-head Do America, tried to write a script for The Crow: Salvation, and directed some of his own music videos but little else.

The band had gained this reputation over the years due to their performance when touring with notable bands such as Kyuss, Monster Magnet, Marilyn Manson, Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, and White Zombie, among others.

Franco later directed a film for Lesouer called Oasis of the Zombies ( aka " Bloodsucking Nazi Zombies ") in 1981, which had a plot similar to Zombie Lake ( also involving revived Nazi zombies ).

The film had mixed reviews with a 53 % rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus " Zombie has improved as a filmmaker since ' House of 1000 Corpses ' and will please fans of the genre, but beware -- the horror is nasty, relentless, and sadistic.
