Jama Masjid, Delhi

The Mughals brought their own form of architecture that included pointed, onion-shaped domes, as seen in Delhi's Jama Masjid.

In April 2006, two explosions occurred at India's Jama Masjid.

The Moti Masjid, Agra and many other buildings in Agra, the Red Fort and the Jama Masjid in Delhi, mosques in Lahore, extensions to Lahore Fort and a mosque in Thatta also commemorate him.

Among his surviving buildings are the Red Fort and Jama Masjid in Delhi, the Shalimar Gardens of Lahore, sections of the Lahore Fort ( such as Sheesh Mahal, and Naulakha pavilion ), and his Tomb of Jahangir.

Among his other constructions are the Red Fort also called the Delhi Fort or Lal Qila in Urdu, large sections of Agra Fort, the Jama Masjid, the Wazir Khan Mosque, the Moti Masjid, the Shalimar Gardens, sections of the Lahore Fort, the Jahangir mausoleum — his father's tomb, the construction of which was overseen by his stepmother Nur Jahan and the Shahjahan Mosque.

Jama Masjid, Delhi one of the largest mosques in the Mughal Empire was completed during the reign of Shah Jahan.

According to the book, Sultan Muizuddin Sam Ghaor ( f. 1195-95 A. D .) dedicated two villages in favour of Jama Masjid, Multan, and, handed its administration to the Shaikhul Islam ( highest ecclesiastical officer of the Empire ).

In India, there were many popular places for Muslims to congregate to celebrate Eid at this time include the Jama Masjid in New Delhi, Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad, Aishbagh Idgah in Lucknow ; in Kolkata there is a prayer held on Red Road.

Delhi currently has many renowned historic monuments and landmarks such as the Tughlaqabad fort, Qutub Minar, Purana Quila, Lodhi Gardens, Jama Masjid, Humayun's tomb, Red Fort, and Safdarjung's Tomb.

* Buland Darwaza: Set into the south wall of congregational mosque, the Jama Masjid at Fatehpur Sikri, this stupendous piece of architecture is 54 metre high, from the outside, gradually making a transition to a human scale in the inside.

* Jama Masjid: It is a Jami Mosque meaning the Friday Mosque congregational mosque, and was perhaps one of the first buildings to come up in the complex, as its epigraph gives AH 979 ( A. D. 1571-72 ) as the date of its completion, with a massive entrance to the courtyard, the Buland-Darwaza added some five years later.

He became the first Hindu Governor of Kashmir after 1354AD and enacted dozen of anti-Muslim laws, He raised the amount of tax on Muslims, he banned the Jama Masjid of Srinagar and prohibited the cow slaughter.
