General François Christophe Kellermann led the local Army of the Moselle during the French Revolutionary Wars, notably at the decisive Battle of Valmy against the Prussian troops.
He shared the victory at Valmy with General François Christophe Kellermann, but later deserted the Revolutionary Army, became a royalist intriguer during the reign of Napoleon and an adviser to the British government.
