Barney Bubbles ( born Colin Fulcher, 30 July 1942 – 14 November 1983 ) was a radical English graphic artist whose work encompassed graphic design and music video direction.
In 1967 Fulcher became known as Barney Bubbles, though he did not change his name by deed poll for several more years.

Barney Bubbles directed several videos, including The Specials ' " Ghost Town ", Squeeze's " Is That Love " and " Tempted ", Elvis Costello's " Clubland " and " New Lace Sleeves ", and Fun Boy Three's " The Lunatics ( Have Taken Over the Asylum )".
In 1978 Barney Bubbles was responsible for the redesign of the weekly music paper the NME, including a new logo design ( which is no longer in use ).< ref >
One of his earliest tasks was to oversee a redesign of the paper by Barney Bubbles, which included the logo still used on the paper's masthead today ( albeit in a modified form )-this made its first appearance towards the end of 1978.
The cover painting, titled " Snakecharmer & Reclining Octopus " by Barney Bubbles ( but credited to " Sal Forlenza ") is a pastiche of " Three Musicians " by Pablo Picasso, and letters on the zipper-like creatures in the upper right spell " PABLO SI ".
He became an active and vocal member of the band, pulling in friends such as Dik Mik, Calvert and Barney Bubbles, and involving the band in community and charity projects, sometimes to the chagrin of the others.
