George of Brandenburg-Ansbach () ( 4 March 1484 – 27 December 1543 ) was a Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach from the House of Hohenzollern.

The Monarchomachs included jurists such as the Calvinists François Hotman ( 1524 – 1590 ), Théodore de Bèze ( 1519 – 1605 ), Simon Goulart ( 1543 – 1628 ), Nicolas Barnaud ( 1538 – 1604 ), Hubert Languet ( 1518 – 1581 ), Philippe de Mornay ( 1549 – 1623 ) and George Buchanan ( 1506 – 1582 ).

Sir George, 12th Baron de Ros's son was Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland ( 1488 – 1543 ), who inherited the barony.

It was subsequently used in the coronations of the child monarchs Mary, Queen of Scots, in 1543 and her son James VI, King of Scots, in 1567.
