Baron Francis van Aarssens or Baron François van Aerssen ( 27 September 1572-27 December 1641 ), from 1611 on lord of Sommelsdijk, was a diplomat and statesman of the United Provinces.

On 28 March 1964, she married a Dutch nobleman, wildlife photographer Baron Hugo van Lawick, at Chelsea Old Church, London, and she became known during their marriage as Baroness Jane van Lawick-Goodall.

Widespread admiration of Auferstehung led to three 1788 performances in Vienna sponsored by the Baron Gottfried van Swieten and conducted by Mozart.

Henry Austin Bruce, 1st Baron Aberdare GCB, PC, FRS ( 16 April 1815 – 25 February 1895 ) was a British Liberal Party politician, who served in government most notably as Home Secretary ( 1868 – 1873 ) and as Lord President of the Council.

In 1873 Bruce relinquished the home secretaryship, at Gladstone's request, to become Lord President of the Council, and was raised to the peerage as Baron Aberdare, of Duffryn in the County of Glamorgan, on 23 August that year.

Hamilton was made Sheriff of Linlithgow in 1600, received large grants of lands in Scotland and Ireland, was created in 1603 Baron Abercorn, and on 10 July 1606 was rewarded for his services in the matter of the union by being made Earl of Abercorn and Lord Paisley, Hamilton, Mountcastell and Kilpatrick.

* James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Abercorn ( c. 1604 – c. 1670 ), created Lord Hamilton, Baron of Strabane in the Peerage of Ireland in his father's lifetime.

He was appointed Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer in 1834, and presided in that court for more than nine years.

In a note prefixed to the Collected Edition of his wife's poems, Robert Browning tells us that " On the early death of his father, he ( Edward Moulton ) was brought from Jamaica to England when a very young child, as ward to the late Chief Baron Lord Abinger, then Mr. Scarlett, whom he frequently accompanied in his post-chaise when on pursuit.
