His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV ( Aga Khan is also transliterated as Aqa Khan and Agha Khan ), NPk, NI, KBE, CC, GCC, GCIH, GCM ; born December 13, 1936 ; is an international business magnate, racehorse owner and breeder, as well as the 49th and current Imam of Nizari Ismailism – a denomination of Ismailism within Shia Islam consisting of approximately 5 – 15 million adherents ( under 10 % of the world's Shia Muslim population ).

Prince Karim Aga Khan became the present Aga Khan IV upon assuming the Imamat of the Nizari Ismaili community on July 11, 1957, at the age of 20-succeeding his grandfather, His Highness Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan ( known as the Aga Khan III ).

His Highness, The Imperial Prince ( Shahzada ) Dara Shukoh () ( full name and royal title Padshahzada-i-Buzurg Martaba, Jalal ul-Kadir, Sultan Muhammad Dara Shukoh, Shah-i-Buland Iqbal ) ( March 20, 1615 – August 30, 1659 ) was the eldest son and the heir apparent of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

The Right Honourable Sir A. H. Layard, G. C. B., and his Highness Safvet Pasha, now the Grand Vizier of His Majesty the Sultan, have agreed to the following Annex to the Convention signed by them as Plenipotentiaries of their respective Governments on the 4th June, 1878:

* On 25 September 1958, His Highness received the visit of Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail ( Raja of Perlis ), Almarhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah Al-Haj ( Sultan of Selangor ), Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Riayatuddin Muazzam Shah and Sir Anthony Abell who attended the ‘ Berkhatan ’ ceremony of His Highness ’ s sons, His Royal Highness Pengiran Muda Hassanal Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Pengiran Muda Mohammad Bolkiah.

* On 6 July 1959, His Highness received the visit of Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Muhammad, the first Yang Di Pertuan Agong of the Federation of Malaya and, Almarhumah Tuanku Khursiah binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin, the first Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaya.

His Highness was buried in the Royal Mausoleum in Bandar Seri Begawan, alongside his wife, and his father, Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam II, his grandfather, Sultan Hashim Jalilul Alam Aqamaddin and his eldest brother and predecessor Sultan Ahmad Tajuddin.

Following the abdication of King Farouk, Prince Muhammad Abdul Moneim served as Chairman of the Council of Egyptian Regency from 26 July 1952 to 18 June 1953 for the infant King Fuad II, being created His Royal Highness in 1952.

The Imam of the present age of the Ismaili community is Shah Karim al-Hussaini, His Highness the Aga Khan 4th, who is the 49th Imam in the direct unbroken chain from the progeny of Imam Hussain and Imam Ismail.

In 1992, the company changed its name to Royal Selangor to reflect its royal endorsement from His Royal Highness The Sultan of Selangor that time, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, and to reflect its diverse product range, which has extended beyond pewter.
