She was born Her Sultanic Highness Princess Fawzia bint Fuad at Ras el-Tin Palace in Alexandria, the eldest daughter of Sultan Fuad I of Egypt and Sudan ( later King Fuad I ), and his second wife, Nazli Sabri.

Prince Karim Aga Khan became the present Aga Khan IV upon assuming the Imamat of the Nizari Ismaili community on July 11, 1957, at the age of 20-succeeding his grandfather, His Highness Sir Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan ( known as the Aga Khan III ).

His Highness, The Imperial Prince ( Shahzada ) Dara Shukoh () ( full name and royal title Padshahzada-i-Buzurg Martaba, Jalal ul-Kadir, Sultan Muhammad Dara Shukoh, Shah-i-Buland Iqbal ) ( March 20, 1615 – August 30, 1659 ) was the eldest son and the heir apparent of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

The Right Honourable Sir A. H. Layard, G. C. B., and his Highness Safvet Pasha, now the Grand Vizier of His Majesty the Sultan, have agreed to the following Annex to the Convention signed by them as Plenipotentiaries of their respective Governments on the 4th June, 1878:

" We must remember, the Sultan of Selangor in his every speech has stressed against using mosques for political purposes and His Highness has been consistent in stating his views "

The introduction of the 1959 Constitution effectively brought to an end to the Resident ’ s rule in Brunei and reinstated the Sultan ’ s internal sovereignty, making His Highness the supreme executive head of Government in Brunei.

* On 25 September 1958, His Highness received the visit of Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail ( Raja of Perlis ), Almarhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah Al-Haj ( Sultan of Selangor ), Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Riayatuddin Muazzam Shah and Sir Anthony Abell who attended the ‘ Berkhatan ’ ceremony of His Highness ’ s sons, His Royal Highness Pengiran Muda Hassanal Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Pengiran Muda Mohammad Bolkiah.

* His Highness received the visit of guests Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar of Pahang, Almarhum Sultan Hisamuddin of Selangor, Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra of Perlis, Almarhum Tuanku Munawir of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysian Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman and his deputy, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein who attended the official opening ceremony of the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque.

Earlier that day, His Highness attended the mass prayer, recital of Surah Yassin and thanksgiving ceremony on the occasion of the impending proclamation of Independence at the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Bandar Seri Begawan on 31 December 1983.

His Highness Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III was the second cousin to Pehin Orang Kaya-Kaya Koroh bin Santulan of Keningau, the First Natives Paramount Leader who was also the father of former Sabah State Minister Tan Sri Stephen ( Suffian ) Koroh, and Sabah's fifth State Governor Tun Thomas ( Ahmad ) Koroh, ( the elder brother of Suffian ).

* His Highness joined his son in participating in the tug-of-war competition at the Padang Besar ( now Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien ), Bandar Seri Begawan on 22 February 1973.

* By the consent of his son, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Brunei Darussalam, organised an annual Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Memorial Lecture that started on 25 February 2009 to commemorate the late Highness who was indeed an exemplary statesman.

After his untimely death from natural causes, he was succeeded by his brother who became His Royal Highness Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III, the 28th Sultan of Brunei.

The British came to address Hasan Ali Shah as His Highness.
