When one experiences the ultimate Emptiness ( Shunyata ) and non-self ( Anatta ), one is free from suffering, vexations, and all illusions of self-deception.

Anatta is not meant as a philosophical position.

There are many different views of Anatta within various Mahayana schools.

Anatta is discussed in the Questions of King Milinda, composed during the period of the Hellenistic Indo-Greek kingdom of the 2nd and 1st centuries BCE.

These traditions assert that Nirvana also has the quality of Anatta, but that Nirvana ( by definition ) is the cessation of Dukkha and Anicca.

On the other hand, conceptions of an impersonal godhead of any description, such as world-soul, etc., are excluded by the Buddha's teachings on Anatta, non-self or unsubstantiality.

Non-Self in Buddhism is the Non-Duality of Subject and Object, which is very explicitly stated by the Buddha in verses such as “ In seeing, there is just seeing.
