In 1965, at the age of 19, Rickman met his girlfriend Rima Horton, a Labour party councillor on Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council 1986-2006.

He was elected as a councillor to the London Borough of Wandsworth in 1986 and at the 1992 general election was elected to Parliament for the seat of East Surrey, succeeding Sir Geoffrey Howe.

In 1982 she was elected as a councillor in the London Borough of Wandsworth, and was the Deputy Leader of the Labour Group from 1983-6.

Cllr David Williams who is a Conservative councillor and represents Hillside is currently the Mayor of the London Borough of Merton.

She joined the Liberal Democrats in 1994, was elected as a councillor to the Test Valley Borough Council in 1995, and in 1997 became the youngest ever female Mayor of Romsey.

Meanwhile, Dunwoody was a councillor on Totnes Borough Council ( now South Hams ) from 1963-6.

Denningberg was a community activist and fund raiser who served as a councillor on Godalming Borough Council in 1954 and then again from 1963 continuously through the formation of Waverley until 2003 when he retired.

In 1982 he was elected as a councillor to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, which he served until 1986.

From 1971 to 1974 he was a Labour councillor in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

To mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, it was announced on 5 January 2010 that on 3 February 2012 the London Borough of Greenwich would become the fourth to have Royal Borough status, the others being the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Following their review of parliamentary representation in South London, the Boundary Commission for England has made changes to the constituencies within Lewisham borough, pairing Lewisham with the London Borough of Bromley and allocating six seats to the pairing, with the electorate of Lewisham requiring approximately 2. 5 seats and Bromley 3. 5.

The area was originally incorporated as Brigantine Beach Borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on June 14, 1890 from portions of Galloway Township, based on the results of a referendum held on June 3, 1890.

Audubon Park was incorporated as a borough on July 3, 1947, from portions of Audubon Borough, based on the results of a referendum held on October 28, 1947, making it the most recently created municipality in Camden County.

The Oaklyn Fire Department ( Station 18-3 ) is responsible for fire protection in the Borough of Oaklyn and until December 2007 was responsible for Haddon Township Fire District 3, which paid the Borough of Oaklyn for fire protection through tax money it collected from its residents.

When Oaklyn seceded from the Township in 1905 there was an agreement made between Oaklyn Borough and Haddon Township that Oaklyn would still protect the District 3 section since they were much closer and the fire apparatus was horse drawn at the time.

Portions of the township have been taken to form Anglesea Borough ( on June 13, 1885 ; now North Wildwood City ), Avalon Borough ( April 18, 1892 ), Wildwood ( May 1, 1895 ), Stone Harbor Borough ( April 3, 1914 ) and West Wildwood ( April 21, 1920 ).

The Borough of East Newark was established on July 3, 1895, from portions of Kearny lying between the Erie Railroad's Newark Branch right of way and Harrison, based on the results of a referendum held the previous day.

In Princeton Borough 1, 385 voted for, 902 voted against while in Princeton Township 3, 542 voted for and 604 voted against.
