During this time, Broome created many DC characters and institutions, including the whimsical simian sleuth Detective Chimp, with artist Infantino, in The Adventures of Rex the Wonder Dog # 4 ( Aug. 1952 ); the Phantom Stranger, also with Infantino, in Phantom Stranger # 1 ( Sept. 1952 ); the Elongated Man, again with Infantino, in The Flash # 112 ( May 1960 ); and the post-apocalyptic heroes the Atomic Knights, with artist Murphy Anderson, in Strange Adventures # 117 ( June 1960 ).

Through the 1940s, Broome wrote primarily for Green Lantern stories the superhero team the Justice Society of America, but also contributed an occasional tale starring the Atom, Hawkman, or Dr. Mid-Nite, in titles including Sensation Comics, Comic Cavalcade, All-Star Comics, All-American Comics, and Flash Comics.

William Broome painted two pictures featuring the Ramsgate tugs: The Ramsgate pulling and sailing lifeboat being towed by the tug ' Aide ' through the harbour entrance in a fierce storm, going to the rescue of the ' Indian Chief ' on the Goodwin Sands, held by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution Heritage Trust, and The tug ' Vulcan ' towing a stricken vessel into Ramsgate with a lifeboat, held by the Maritime Museum in Ramsgate.

Frederick Broome, rector of Kenley, Salop, by his wife Catherine Eleanor ( eldest daughter of Lieut .- Colonel Napier, formerly Superintendent Indian Department, Canada ) was born on 18 November 1842 in Canada.

The Broome County Public Library in New York opened in October 1904.

Broome County is a county located in the U. S. state of New York.

It was named in honor of John Broome, who was lieutenant governor in 1806 when Broome County was established.

Broome County is also home to Binghamton University, one of four university centers in the SUNY system.

Broome County is part of the Binghamton Metropolitan Statistical Area.

When counties were established in the Province of New York in 1683, the present Broome County was part of Albany County.

Tioga County was at this time much larger than the present county and included the present Broome and Chemung Counties and parts of Chenango and Schuyler Counties.

In 1806, the present-day Broome County was split off from Tioga County.

Broome County is located in south-central New York State, directly north of the border with Pennsylvania in a section of the state called the Southern Tier.

Broome County's offices are housed in the Edwin L. Crawford County Office Building of Government Plaza located at 60 Hawley Street in Downtown Binghamton.

Binghamton is the county seat of Broome County and is the principal city and cultural center of the Greater Binghamton metropolitan area ( also known as the Triple Cities ), home to a quarter million people.

While employment and population steadily moved west to less crowded areas of Broome County during the early and mid 20th century, Binghamton maintained its place as the commercial, transportation, and retail center of the region up to about 1950.

These former hamlets became the most prosperous areas of Broome County after 1950 because of the enormous success of the then Endicott-based International Business Machines Corporation ( IBM ).

The construction included the creation of Government Plaza, the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena, and North Shore Dr. ( NY 363 ).

The chamber is now located indoors in the Broome Historical Society Museum.

The organisation was founded in 1824 ( without the " royal " prefix ) as the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ; it was established by a group of 22 reformers led by Richard Martin MP, William Wilberforce MP and the Reverend Arthur Broome in ‘ Old Slaughter ’ s Coffee House ’, St Martin's Lane, near the Strand.

Following the 500th anniversary of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus ( called Mikolaj Kopernik in Polish ) in 1973, the Space Center was built by the Kopernik Society of Broome County and opened to the public in June 1974.

However, the Kopernik Society of Broome County negotiated this matter with Roberson Museum and Science Center.

However in 2003, Chris Gbandi returned from a long-term injury and replaced Broome at left back.

On July 23, 2003, the Burn traded Broome to the Los Angeles Galaxy along with Ryan Suarez and Antonio Martinez in exchange for Gavin Glinton and Ezra Hendrickson.

In 2003, Broome played as a left midfielder and back for the Galaxy.
