* 1607 – English colonists make landfall at Cape Henry, Virginia.

American Revolutionary War veteran Henry Hall is credited as first to farm cranberries in the Cape Cod town of Dennis around 1816.

In 1816, Henry Hall first commercially grew cranberries in East Dennis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.

When John I died, Henry's eldest brother, Edward became head of the castles council, and granted Henry a " Royal Flush " of all profits from trading within the areas he discovered as well as the sole right to authorize expeditions beyond Cape Bojador.

Henry Nourse, a shipowner at the Cape, brought out a small party of Irish settlers in 1818.

He grew up nearby at the home of his father, Henry John Bennett, at Hopewell Cape, the shire town of Albert County, then a town of 1, 800 people.

This changed in 1872 when the local politician John Molteno-with the backing of Governor Henry Barkly-instituted responsible government, making the Ministers directly responsible to the Cape Parliament, and becoming the Cape's first Prime Minister.

At the Cape Henry Memorial located at Joint Expeditionary Base East in Virginia Beach, Virginia, there is monument commemorating the contribution of de Grasse and his sailors to the cause of American independence.

With the arrival of English colonists at Cape Henry in 1607, Europeans again entered the bay.

Other events in 1957 included army and navy reviews, air force fly-overs, ship and aircraft christenings and even an outdoor drama at Cape Henry, site of the first landing of the settlers.
