On February 6, 1938, the Chongqing University, the Sichuan College of Education, the Chongqing Nankai Middle School, the Chongqing Electrical Steel Works and several institutions which settled at Shapingba from Beijing, Shanghai or Nanjing such as the National Central University, the China Radio International, and the Academia Sinica, also the business and the financial together set the Chongqing Shaci Cultural District.

In April 2008, the ChinaCast Education Company completed the acquisition of 80 % of the holding company of the Foreign Trade and Business College of Chongqing Normal University.

Carnegie's empire grew to include the J. The conflict was centered on Carnegie Steel's main plant in Homestead, Pennsylvania, and grew out of a dispute between the National Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers of the United States and the Carnegie Steel Company.

Over the course of twenty years, Carnegie ’ s steel properties grew to include the Edgar Thomson Steel Works, the Lucy Furnace Works, the Union Iron Mills, the Homestead Works, the Keystone Bridge Works, the Hartman Steel Works, the Frick Coke Company, and the Scotia ore mines among many other industry related assets.

Leading firms that arranged their own financing included Speidel Corporation, Cornell-Dubilier, Photek, Inc. Division of Textron, Narragansett Gray Iron Foundry, W. R. Cobb Company, and Mays Manufacturing Company.

The principal ironworks was built by the British Iron Company in 1825 ; it passed to the New British Iron Company in 1843 and to the Ebbw Vale Company in 1852 but closed in 1889.

He built Pittsburgh's Carnegie Steel Company, which was later merged with Elbert H. Gary's Federal Steel Company and several smaller companies to create U. S. Steel.

In the 1870s, he founded the Carnegie Steel Company, a step which cemented his name as one of the " Captains of Industry ".

Carnegie combined his assets and those of his associates in 1892 with the launching of the Carnegie Steel Company.

When workers from the William Beardmore and Company Steel Works in Glasgow were dying from the large amounts of beer drunk to quench their thirst from the heat of the steel works, an alternative was sought.

These ships, delivered to MSC in the mid-1980s, built at Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Co., Chester, Pennsylvania and converted at National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, San Diego.
