Though many games have had beautiful music to accompany their gameplay, one of the most important games in the history of the video game music is Dragon Quest.

The DragonQuest trademark prevented the Dragon Quest video game series from being published in North America under that title.

In 2003, Square Enix registered the Dragon Quest trademark in the US.

As well as giving its classical concerts, the LPO has made several film soundtracks, including Lawrence of Arabia, Philadelphia, The Mission, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy as well as some CD albums of video game music from the Square Enix series Dragon Quest composed by Koichi Sugiyama, Symphonic Poem: Hope for Final Fantasy XII, the soundtrack for Xenosaga Episode I composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and even Elkie Brooks ' Screen Gems, the entire album of which was used in modern films.

Yuji Horii drew inspiration from the Wizardry, Mugen no Shinzou ( Heart of Phantasm ), and Ultima series of games for making the popular Japanese role-playing game Dragon Quest.

Wizardry also established the command-driven battle system with a still image of the monster being fought that would be emulated in later games, such as The Bard's Tale, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

Shadow of the Beast and Shadow of the Beast II were reviewed in 1991 in Dragon # 169 by Patricia Hartley, and Kirk Lesser in " The Role of Computers " column.

The PC Engine Super CD-ROM² version of Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari, released on December 24, 1993, was published by Naxat Soft and developed by KID, the same team that did the PC Engine versions of Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball ( Super Dodge Ball ), Double Dragon II: The Revenge, and Downtown Nekketsu Kōshinkyoku.
