The Schutzstaffel (, translated to Protection Squadron or defence corps, abbreviated SS — or Runic " ᛋᛋ " with stylized " Armanen " sig runes ) was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party ( NSDAP ).
