A specialist Army unit 321 EOD Unit Company ( now part of 11 EOD Regiment RLC ) was deployed to tackle increased IRA violence and willingness to use bombs against both economic and military targets.

Joint Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal in the Falkland Islands consists of 33 Engineer Regiment ( EOD ), RAF and RLC EOD teams.
In 1951, the Navy was assigned Joint Service responsibilities for EOD research and development, and training.

Training and Evaluation
Lodger units are the RAF Police, Joint Air Delivery Test and Evaluation Unit ( JADTEU )-A tri-service unit that tests and evaluates air transportation methods, and No. 1 Parachute Training School RAF.
