Significant architects who have worked in Australia include Governor Lachlan Macquarie's colonial architect, Francis Greenway ; the ecclesiastical architect William Wardell ; the designer of Canberra's layout, Walter Burley Griffin ; the modernist Harry Seidler ; and Jørn Utzon, designer of the Sydney Opera House.

Originally commissioned in 1815 as the stables for the proposed Government House of New South Wales, the oldest Conservatorium building was designed by the convict architect, Francis Greenway.

Francis Howard Greenway ( 20 November 1777 – September 1837 ) was an English architect who was transported to Australia for the crime of forgery.

Greenway was born at Mangotsfield, Gloucestershire ( near the English city of Bristol ), the son of Francis Greenway and Ann, née Webb.

In 1835 he advertised that " Francis Howard Greenway, arising from circumstances of a singular nature is induced again to solicit the patronage of his friends and the public ".

Francis Greenway Drive in the suburb of Cherrybrook is named in honour of Francis Greenway.

The Vaucluse home of the renowned Australian architect Leslie Wilkinson ( 1882 – 1973 ) was named " Greenway " in honour of Francis Greenway.

Francis Greenway, a transported convict who became a prominent architect in Sydney, New South Wales, and whose image appeared on the first Australian decimal-currency $ 10 note in 1966, was born in Mangotsfield in 1777.

Harlem River Drive and Harlem River Greenway run along the right bank of the river, and Hudson Line ( Metro-North ) railroad and Major Deegan Expressway the left.

After it passes Big Bear City Airport, it reaches its northeast junction with State Route 18 at Greenway Drive in Big Bear City.

Route 38 then turns south, sharing Greenway Drive with Route 18.

Both route signs continue on Greenway Drive to its intersection with Big Bear Boulevard.

Designated bike paths from East 83rd Street, South Shore Drive / Mackinaw Avenue and South Chicago Avenue connect directly to the Burnham Greenway Trail which links to a comprehensive system of greenways throughout the Calumet Region.

The Bedford-Sackville Connector Greenway is a crushed gravel covered trail running beside the Sackville River from the intersection of Cobequid Road and Sackville Drive to Bedford Place Mall.

It is next to the suburbs of Greenway, Wanniassa and Monash and is bounded by Drakeford Drive, Taverner Street and Erindale Drive.
