Originally commissioned in 1815 as the stables for the proposed Government House of New South Wales, the oldest Conservatorium building was designed by the convict architect, Francis Greenway.

Francis Howard Greenway ( 20 November 1777 – September 1837 ) was an English architect who was transported to Australia for the crime of forgery.

Greenway was born at Mangotsfield, Gloucestershire ( near the English city of Bristol ), the son of Francis Greenway and Ann, née Webb.

In 1835 he advertised that " Francis Howard Greenway, arising from circumstances of a singular nature is induced again to solicit the patronage of his friends and the public ".

The Vaucluse home of the renowned Australian architect Leslie Wilkinson ( 1882 – 1973 ) was named " Greenway " in honour of Francis Greenway.

Francis Greenway, a transported convict who became a prominent architect in Sydney, New South Wales, and whose image appeared on the first Australian decimal-currency $ 10 note in 1966, was born in Mangotsfield in 1777.

S. Supreme Court, National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie.

The show centers on a teenage girl, Lindsay Weir ( Linda Cardellini ), and her younger brother, Sam ( John Francis Daley ), who both attend William McKinley High School during the 1980 – 1981 school year in the town of Chippewa, Michigan, a fictional suburb of Detroit.

The Ormond Chair of Music at the University of Melbourne, Ormond Hall at the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind, RMIT's Francis Ormond Building ( the former Working Men's College ), Ormond College at the University of Melbourne, Ormond Road in Geelong, The Francis Ormond Masonic Lodge No 286 UGLV and the Melbourne suburb of Ormond are all named in his honour.

After the earliest period, the history of which is essentially unknown, but to which the walls in the core hill portion of the town attest, dated to the 1st century BC, the first stage of the development of Trevi beyond the hill took place under the Empire, when Hadrian restored the main road through the territory, the Via Flaminia, thus spurring the growth of a suburb in the plain at the place now called Pietrarossa, where sporadic excavations over several centuries have brought to light many remains: among them Roman baths that appear to have been still more or less in use in the time of St. Francis, who is known to have visited the area and to have advised people to bathe there.
