* Persia – The hamlet of Persia is located south of Gowanda near the west town line.

* Bagdad – A hamlet northeast of Gowanda.

* Collins Correctional Facility – A NYS Medium Security prison located right next to Gowanda Correctional Facility separated by Middle Road.

* Gowanda Correctional Facility – A NYS Medium Security prison located right next to Collins Correctional Facility separated by Middle Road.

* McIntosh Woods – Woods located between the town of Collins and the village of Gowanda.

The eastern border is the Town of Persia and the Village of Gowanda.

It flows through the Village of Gowanda, which straddles the creek and is thereby in two counties.

Much of the town is served by the north-to-south Broadway Road ( County Road 4 ), which runs from NY 353 into the village of Gowanda.

Silver Creek is served by the Lake Erie Regional Health System, which consists of Lake Shore Hospital in Irving, Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk and Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Gowanda.

Middle Road is the border between the town of Collins and the village of Gowanda.

The hamlet is west of Gowanda, New York.

These enrolled members live or work on five reservations in New York: the Allegany ( which contains the city of Salamanca ); the Cattaraugus near Gowanda, New York ; the Buffalo Creek Territory located in downtown Buffalo, NY ; the Niagara Falls Territory located in Niagara Falls, New York ; and the Oil Springs Reservation, near Cuba, New York.

A tributary known as the " South Branch of the Cattaraugus Creek " originates in Cattaraugus, New York and flows northwest to the main Cattaraugus Creek along the Persia-Otto town line, joining the main creek just east of the village of Gowanda.

In August 2009 a flash flood affected Silver Creek, Sunset Bay and Gowanda.

As a result of the flood, the New York State Department of Health closed Tri-County Memorial Hospital until a building can be constructed in a different location in Gowanda.

Some years we are lucky to feature local shriners club from Gowanda.

Hamburg lies at the junction of several major trucking roads, such as Lakeview Road, Boston State Road ( Route 391 ), Sisson Highway ( Route 75 ), South Park Avenue / Buffalo Street ( U. S. Route 62 ), which becomes Gowanda State Road south of the village, and McKinley Parkway.

To the east of Gowanda, the Cattaraugus Creek passes through the Zoar Valley Multiple Use Area.
