Krystyna Maria Łybacka (; born 10 February 1946 in Jutrosin ) is a Polish political figure who has been serving in the country's national Parliament ( Sejm ), since 1991 and, from October 2001 to May 2004, was a member of the cabinet, with the title of Minister of National Education.

It was at the family stables that Krystyna first met Andrzej Kowerski, whose father had brought him over to play with ten-year-old Krystyna while he and her father, the Count, discussed agricultural matters.

The legal content of the March Constitution allowed for Sejm supremacy in the system of state institutions at the expense of the executive powers, thus creating a parliamentary republic out of the Polish state.

In 1935, the parliamentary republic was weakened further when, by way of, Józef Piłsudski's May Coup, the president was forced to sign the April Constitution of 1935, an act through which the head of state assumed the dominant position in legislating for the state and the Senate increased its power at the expense of the Sejm.

SLD formed a coalition with Labour Union before the 2001 Polish election and won it overwhelmingly at last by capturing about 5. 3 million votes, 42 % of the whole and won 200 of 460 seats in the Sejm and 75 of 100 in the Senate.

Originally a left-wing party, the PSL formed a coalition with the Democratic Left Alliance ( SLD ) after winning 132 seats in the Sejm at the 1993 election, with PSL leader Waldemar Pawlak as Prime Minister until 1995.

In 1496 the Sejm approved the creation of a national currency, the złoty, and its value was set at 30 groszy, a coin minted since 1347 and modelled on the Prague groschen.

During the reign of Alexander Jagiellon, the Nihil novi act was adopted by the Polish Sejm, in a meeting at the Radom Castle.

In the meantime, in 1773 his opponents in Poland moved to accuse him of attempted regicide, and proceedings begun at the Sejm Court on 7 June.

In 1793 the last Sejm in the history of the Commonwealth occurred at Grodno.

Peter the Great seized on this opportunity to pose as mediator, threatened the Commonwealth militarily, and in 1717 forced Augustus and the nobility to sign an accommodation favorable to Russian interests, at the Silent Sejm ( Sejm Niemy ).
