HBC Rewards / Club Z is a large program first started by Zellers in 1986 as Club Z. Loblaws offers the President's Choice Financial program where cardholders earn PC Points towards free groceries.

Coincidentally, the parent company of Dominion in Newfoundland, Loblaw Companies, is converting part of Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, the former stadium of the Maple Leafs ' parent club, to a Loblaws supermarket ; both projects were approved despite grassroots protests.

Loblaws, originally under the SuperStore Warehouse banner ( used for large format Loblaw stores in the 1980s ) opened on its own in late 1984, preceding the building of the rest of the mall.
