But it is probable that this part of the castle's foundation was constructed by Kuroda Nagamasa.

It is thought that Nagamasa opposed him and believed that the alliance could somehow be mended over time since he refused to divorce his wife, Oichi, but he failed to gain enough support to overturn Hisamasa.

Many retainers wished to honor the alliance with the Asakura, while Nagamasa himself is reported to have favored staying neutral, essentially siding with Nobunaga.

In appearance, Nagamasa is depicted with his traditional kabuto helmet and carries a lance as his weapon of choosing.

* Nagamasa is an NPC in Sengoku Basara 2, along with Oichi, but becomes playable in the expansion Sengoku Basara 2: Heroes.

In 1600, Kuroda Nagamasa, a daimyo of the Fukuoka-Han at that time, created Nakasu to connect between current Chūō-ku and Hakata-ku by building two bridges over the rivers at the sandbank: Higashi Nakajima Bridge and Nishi Nakajima Bridge ( currently is Shōwa Street ).

However, because Azai Nagamasa was made playable in Samurai Warriors 2, as opposed to the first game where he was a unique non-playable character, the battle had a larger significance.

* Nagamasa makes appearances as a general in the Main Campaign and in various Historical Battles and Historical Campaigns in the PC game Shogun Total War.

Additionally, Nagamasa returns as an Heir to the Azai Clan in the fan created Samurai Warlords Mod ( aka the Shogun Mod ) for the PC game Medieval Total War.

In 2010, Buakaw co-starred in the martial arts movie Yamada: The Samurai of Ayothaya based on the life of Yamada Nagamasa, a Japanese adventurer who gained considerable influence in Thailand at the beginning of the 17th century and became the governor of the Nakhon Si Thammarat province in southern Thailand.

When Nobunaga launched a campaign into the Asakura clan's domain, Azai Nagamasa, to whom Oichi was married, broke the alliance with Oda to honor the Azai-Asakura alliance which had lasted for generations.

The bakufu, which was an asset for Harumoto, had been preserved, but Miyoshi's son Nagayoshi proceeded to the capital from Awa ; while he accepting a wife from the shugodai of Kawachi who had the de facto power ( Yusa Naganori ) and received other such favors of power, in subordination to Harumoto, but not in subordination to the wishes of Harumoto, he played an active role in such things as attacking Kizawa Nagamasa in Takaida ( in modern Kashiwara, Osaka ).

* 1570 ( Genki 1, 6th month ): The combined forces of the Azai clan, led by Azai Nagamasa, and the Asakura clan, led by Asakura Yoshikage, met the forces of Oda Nobunaga in a shallow riverbed which has come to be known as the Battle of Anegawa.

* Kizawa Nagamasa – A Sengoku daimyō who temporarily held Yamato and Kawachi.

Nobunaga took Odani Castle from Azai Nagamasa, who, left with no other option, committed suicide along with his son.

This surfaced on 1570 after Oda Nobunaga who was allied with his son, Azai Nagamasa, attacked Asakura Yoshikage who had supported Hisamasa against enemies like the Rokkaku clan.

There are reports that Nobunaga bore a strong grudge against Nagamasa for his perceived betrayal of their alliance even though it was he who broke the agreement first.

Nagamasa remained loyal to the Miyoshi clan and battled against Itami Chikaoki, who allied with Matsunaga Hisahide.

He was the second son of Ikeda Nagamasa, who was a dominant kokujin in Settsu Province.

The Army of the Right consisted mainly of the former Second Division led by Kato Kiyomasa, the Third Division led by Kuroda Nagamasa and the Seventh Division led by Mori Hidemoto, who replaced his cousin Mori Terumoto.

Hisamasa's retainers had enough and after his son Azai Nagamasa won the Battle of Norada against a force at least twice the size of his led by Rokkaku Yoshikata to win back independence, they forced Hisamasa into retirement.

As like in history, Nagamasa decides to collaborate with his erstwhile allies, the Asakura, and fight against Nobunaga at Anegawa ; he also expresses a more dramatized showing of love towards his respective wife, Oichi, and cares deeply for her welfare.

In 1570, her father, Nagamasa, broke his alliance with Oda Nobunaga and there was a three year period of fighting until 1573 when Nobunaga's army surrounded Nagamasa at Odani Castle.

In order to ensure the survival of the clan, Hiroie made a secret pact with the Tokugawa side through Kuroda Nagamasa, promising to Mori neutrality during the battle in exchange for guarantees of the existing Mori domains.

In 1564, Nobunaga had his sister, Oichi, marry Azai Nagamasa, a daimyo in northern Ōmi Province.

Also in 1573, Nobunaga successfully destroyed the Asakura and Azai clans, leading Azai Nagamasa to send Oichi back to Nobunaga and commit suicide.

In primary Edo period, Kuroda Nagamasa, appointed the lord of Chikuzen Province, and his samurai vassals dwelt on the opposite shore of Hakata on Naka River in Fukusaki.
